WandaVision ended with an enticing mystery, and we'll have to wait until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in 2022 to know where the Scarlet Witch will be going next. Luckily, we have a new piece of material to hold us over until she makes her return.

WandaVision fans will soon be able to take a deep dive into the making of Marvel Studios' first Disney+ series with Marvel Studios' WandaVision: The Official Collector Special

The book, an official companion to WandaVision, gives fans an in-depth look at the behind-the-scenes side of the series. It features interviews with most of the show's cast, including Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda), Paul Bettany (Vision), Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau), Kathryn Hahn (Agatha Harkness), Kat Dennings (Darsy Lewis) and Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), as well as with WandaVision's head writer, Jac Schaeffer.

The Official Collector Special also features a detailed episode guide. Given how intricate WandaVision was, this will likely be useful for those wanting to fully understand what happened in every episode. There is also a character guide so readers who may not be as familiar with the MCU's history can get to know the show's main players.

Finally, for those Easter-egg-hunting fans, the book includes trivia about the series, which is sure to offer interesting details about Wanda and Vision's suburban adventure.

A Peek Behind the Magic

WandaVision is one of Marvel Studios' most unique projects. The show combined comedy, different sitcom aesthetics, drama, mystery and its studio's trademark action to deliver a superhero story unlike any we had seen before.

As audiences, it's fun to sit back and enjoy the ride the project took us on, but accomplishing what the people behind it did required plenty of meticulous planning in every aspect, from the writing to the costume designs. Books like this one allow us the opportunity to take a peek behind the curtain, and see exactly what it took to create a project as innovative as WandaVision

Take a look at a few of the pages from the book, as well as its official synopsis, to get a better idea of what to expect from The Official Collector Special

It feels like WandaVision came out a millennia ago but it’s only been about 7 months…damn.

My ranking for the shows so far:
1. Loki
2. WandaVision
3. FatWS
4. What If

Can’t wait for Hawkeye!

@JustAChillFan - Loki and WV are definitely interchangeable. The least favorite being What If seems to be agreed almost unanimously with everyone I talk to. Really hope they go in a different direction for next season

@thelastson18 - with regards to What If, definitely the weakest. There have been 1 or 2 episodes (definitely one in particular) that I would argue have been largely unenjoyable and mediocre at best. At the same time, there have been a few really strong and good episodes. But the unevenness certainly knocks the show down. I appreciate the concept, and think the show can definitely improve for a season 2 (which I hope we get, a season 2; lots of potential).

@thelastson18 -

1. WandaVision
2. Loki
3. F & WS
4. What If?

But I genuinely have loved them all and am so pumped for more!

@thelastson18 - I've liked most of what if, it's just animation isn't something I love watching, even if I find the animation itself good, which it so far has been. I like WV way more than most people and I find personally FatWS and Loki more interchangeable in my rankings. I think I said it before but the fifth episode of Loki is one of my least favorite episodes of tv I've ever watched, which is weird because I liked every other episode a lot. I don't know if they need a different direction for what if but I think the episodes need to be a bit longer, they all feel really rushed.

@JustAChillFan - I completely agree. What If would work better being about 45 min instead of 32. The dialogue goes at a break neck pace it’s hard to really get attached or follow exactly what’s going on. I will say the Zombie and Star Lord Tchalla episodes were genuinely fun, with the Avengers Murder mystery being a close 3rd. The others…idk. I just can’t get into them, which makes me sad since I love the original What If comics. Tbh I don’t remember the 5th episode of Loki, all I know is the Lamentis episode was a chore to get through

@thelastson18 - The fifth was the episode in the void with all the other Loki's. The big cloud monster episode. For whatever reason I really disliked the episode. I loved Richard E. Grant's classic Loki, I liked kid Loki and alligator Loki, but pretty much everything else in the episode just didn't land for me. It hilarious because I loved the finale and the episode preceding that one as my favourites from the season.

WV
What If
Loki
F&Winter Soldier

WV was very episodic, by its very nature, and I think that helped. Most were good, some very good, loved the first two!
I think the same thing helps What If, meaning it has suck ones but good ones too.
Loki = constantly looking at files.
F&WS was so talky, and they ruined Zemo. No not the dance, the manipulation tho… he got some kids to lie? And then he lied? And he did go where he said he wouldn’t? Don’t get me started on the power broker. The Doras and the first… two eps, keep this show from being a 1. It’s a 2. But man, 6 hour movie don’t work. Episodes, playa, episodes.

I would love one of these books for every show. Wouldn't be too interested in one for What If though.

Think I'm one of the few that liked FATWS the most:

Falcon and the Winter Soldier
What If
WandaVision
Loki

Don't think I would need this for the BTS stuff, the Assembled episodes are fill that gap for me.

All I want to know from behind the scenes was who’s idea it was to make the Bohner joke…. Such a wasted opportunity to bring back Quicksilver. It was probably the same guy who thought it was a good idea to make Trevor the fake Mandarin.
Those are my two only gripes about the MCU besides all of Thor the Dark World. Everything else in the MCU is ggggreat!
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 9/23/2021, 8:05 AM
@slickrickdesigns - it wasn't the same guy who wrote the joke, but I do remember reading that the writing theam did like the Trevor fake-out and decided to include on of their own

@slickrickdesigns - haha. The writer actually did say he thought the fake mandarin twist was great!
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 9/23/2021, 6:47 PM
@slickrickdesigns - I don't disagree about either of those "twists" but I would still prefer ATJ's Quicksilver for the MCU.

But for the record, the worst twist of them all is Nick Fury's eye. NO WAY should that "idea" have been greenlit. Ha
slickrickdesigns
slickrickdesigns - 9/24/2021, 8:21 AM
@Tonic24k - agreed… was definitely a stupid idea for a laugh. Kinda took some badass credibility away from Fury.
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 9/24/2021, 10:05 PM
@slickrickdesigns - EXACTLY! Fury can have some humor about him. But his EYE?? No...that has to be legit. That deserves it's own story. Not some throwaway cat-scratch bs.

I do want a demonic MCU movie soon though with Agatha, Mephisto, Mordo, and Blackheart taking on Wanda, Doctor Strange, and Ghost Rider.

Maaann WV, Loki, FAWS none of them I really enjoyed.

Daredevil still the high point for me in terms of TV shows. WV I got bored so much I skipped a lot of the first few episodes and the ending was so bad (awful fight scenes that felt out of a CW show), her pretty much deliberately torturing so many people and being called a hero for it lmao that was some levels of bad. FAWS I enjoyed some moments, but a lot of it was also just plain bad. Loki I thought was going to be my fav after the 1st episode, but by the end I was meh on that one too.

I feel like their best TV show is going to be Moon Knight. I am 100% sure on that.

Not gonna lie. I miss shows like Daredevil and Punisher. Sadly none of the Marvel TV shows so far on Disney+ have really grabbed me.
