The First Trailer For Netflix's LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS Is Not That Fun

Patrick Warburton takes on the role of Lemony Snicket in the first trailer for Netflix's Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. However, be careful, this trailer is anything but happy.

Netflix has released the first official trailer for Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, and it's quite unwelcoming. The trailer features our first look at Partick Warburton as the mysterious Lemony Snicket as he walks around the set of the upcoming series while also warning the viewer of the melancholy one might feel if they choose to watch.

The series will consist of eight episodes that focus on the tragic story of the Baudelaire orphans and their sinister caretaker Count Olaf, played by Neil Patrick Harris. The Netflix-produced series is based on Daniel Handler’s, aka Lemony Snicket’s, international best-selling book series of the same name.

The show and all eight of its episodes will premiere on Netflix, Friday, January 13th, 2017.

Lemony Snicket sounds like something out of Willy Wonka.

I loved the books as a kid, so I'm excited for this. Jim Carrey was fantastic as Count Olaf, but I think NPH will do just fine.

@Kr08 - I read all the books, loved Jim Carrey and liked how they combined three books into one movie. Wish they would have finished the series with that cast but this can still be something great, too.

Im actually really looking forward to this. I read most of the books when I was a kid and really loved them. I always thought it would have made a better tv show than a movie when they first made it. And now that Netflix is doing it, I know its in good hands. I hope it turns out well because those books are very very odd and incredibly enjoyable.

Okay I thought Patrick Warburton was going to play the villain Count Olaf. While I find Warburton hilarious Count Olaf is definitely out of his comedy range especially with that very deep voice. Then I saw it was Neil Patrick Harris and I was instantly satisfied with that casting choice.

Surprised that Warburton is pulling off Snicket. Sounds like NPH is going to be the [frick]up I anticipated, though.

I'm disappointed there never was a Quagmire Triplets book. It would have been interesting to see if Spoiler Warning: all three Quagmire's found each other End Spoiler. As for this show I'm looking forward to it. I enjoyed the books and hope I'll enjoy this too.

I've read all the books, three times. I can't wait for this series, I really hope it's good. Can't believe we didn't get a shot of Count Olaf.
