@lazlodaytona - I got a story for you. My dad came on the Mariel boat lift. He went into the game immediately, but did not stick around in Miami. He went to New Orleans, and he did his thing from there with his friends that came to the US with him. Some of those did stay in Miami, but others came here to New Orleans and were some of the first Cubans in the area. He met my mom, he was stabbed 11 times the day I was born. And I was born at charity Hospital, where Lil Wayne was born 10 days before me, but it is more well-known for being a huge abandoned hospital post Katrina. It’s being turned into something else, finally. Anyway, my dad did not die from being stabbed and continued in the game. You know which one. And when I was 10, my mom and sisters, and I got to our house in Mississippi, and we were greeted by Home invaders, who tied us up and waited for my dad. It was Mother’s Day by the way. My dad got there with his Puerto Rican friend, and they shot my dad and tied the friend up. And they left. They didn’t kill us. My little sister was not tied well and she loosened herself and untied my dad‘s Puerto Rican friend. They had cut the whole lines, so he paddled to a Circle K, the same Circle K Where two years ago, my nephew was shot and killed two years ago, and the Puerto Rican dude called the police and my dad was airlifted to a hospital. He lived. Two years later, he went to prison, and I did not have my dad through middle school or half of high school. He did 4 1/2 years. When he came out, he finally left the game. And opened a Cuban restaurant. On the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I visited Cuba for the second time in 2003, I met my beautiful treacherous ex-wife after that in Mississippi, we had kids, and I became an x-ray tech, but back to the restaurant. Katrina showed us down. It destroyed everything everywhere down the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in Mobile in One Direction, and well beyond New Orleans in the other direction. But we rebuilt and reopened.

And in December of 2007. Brad Pitt had just made the curious case of Benjamin button, and Angelina Jolie had was making a mighty heart, about the Cuban wife of a journalist who was beheaded in the Middle East. They were living in New Orleans because they were helping people there. Building houses. My teacher said he had met Brad Pitt at the aquarium. I’m like that’s cool, why doesn’t that happen to me? Dude. Brad and Angelina got on motorcycles and went to Mississippi, and they saw our billboard, and went to our restaurant. I was headed to the mall in Slidell, Louisiana when my sister called me and told me, I turned around so fast. And I met them. Angelina Jolie was quiet. Brad Pitt was cool as a mf’in’ fan. Later, it turned out, that’s when she was pregnant with the twins. Not only that, what she ate at our restaurant, a plate called Picadillo. She cooked in the movie a mighty heart! That was so cool. My mom and sisters and aunt took a picture with them. I didn’t, because my ex was rushing me.

Which brings me back to the other story. My parents had to close in 09. So that was the second time, first because of Katrina, second because of the economy. They tried again and in 2012 I think, they closed for the last time. 2019, shit went bad in my marriage for the second time. Then came Covid. Then came vaccines. Then in 2021, I opened a Cuban Food Truck. And my dad helped me on it. And after our busiest night, our best night, he had a heart attack sleeping on my living room, couch, and I discovered him the next morning. He died on my grandma‘s birthday one year after her, which is to say, she also died on her birthday. She turned 87 and died that same day, and one year later, my dad joined her. That wasn’t his mom, that was my mom‘s mom. As I mentioned, my nephew. He did not just die. He was killed. Nothing natural about it. At the same gas station that once played a part in saving my dad’s life. I’m glad my dad did not live to see one of his grandchildren die, but he never got to meet his great grandchildren either. But that’s the consolation that my mom and sister, having three great grandkids, 3 grandkids. Me, divorced since 21. Two jobs to get my kids through college. No chance of ever having a girl as beautiful as my ex again. Which is probably how I can avoid what I went through that time lol. I probably wouldn’t get Quentin Tarantino to direct this story. But if I could get anyone to play my dad, it would be Charles S Dutton from aliens 3 and mimic. He dies in both, but he dies a badass.

I don't care what he's said over the years, I hated his superman and the show he was in. When one of the producers admitted during the behind-the-scenes filming that she'd never read a Superman comicbook in her life, I understood why I couldn't stand how the show turned out or how hokey the character turned out to be (I actually thought Terri Hatcher was a really good Lois and I would like to have met her at some point, same with Lane Smith's Perry White).

Get better meds son and maybe don't sound like a typical butt-hurt troll on the internet assuming things you don't actually know the reason behind an opinion or statement.
