Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy is set to premiere at some point this year (we're still waiting on a release date and a trailer), and Netflix has now debuted a series of character posters giving us a first look at the villainous members of The Sparrow Academy.

The season 2 finale (you can check out our review here) saw the gang successfully save the world (again) from Armageddon, but when they returned to their own timeline, they found themselves in an alternate reality with the "Sparrow Academy" seemingly led by the now very much alive Ben Hargreeves.

Check out the posters at the link below, along with previously released descriptions of each character.

JUSTIN CORNWELL (Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, I Am the Night) will play MARCUS, Sparrow #1. A charming, chiseled, colossus. Honest, virtuous, and demanding, Marcus keeps the family together. Graceful but lethal, calculated but compassionate, he is as smart as he is strong. Marcus is disciplined, rational and in control. He oozes confidence and leadership without ever having to raise his voice.

JUSTIN H. MIN (After Yang, The Umbrella Academy) will play BEN, Sparrow #2. This is not the sweet Ben we know and love. This Ben is a Machiavellian tactician, wrapped up in a pretty boy body with a rumbling inner-squid. Vicious, pragmatic, and hyper-vigilant— Ben is determined to gain his status as the leader at all costs.

BRITNE OLDFORD (The Path, Hunters) will play FEI, Sparrow #3. Fei sees the world in a special way. She comes across as a misanthrope who would rather be alone than spend even a second with you. But truth be told, Fei wishes she had a friend. Most of the time, Fei is the smartest person in the room and willing to work things out. But if you cross her there’s no looking back because Fei won’t stop until the job is done.

JAKE EPSTEIN (Designated Survivor, Suits) will play ALPHONSO, Sparrow #4. Years of crime fighting have left his face and body with countless visual reminders of his battles. To compensate, Alphonso is armed with a caustic and biting sense of humor. The only thing he likes better than verbally battering anyone foolish enough to get in his face, is a good pizza and a six-pack of beer.

GENESIS RODRIGUEZ (The Fugitive, Big Hero 6) will play SLOANE, Sparrow #5. A romantic and a dreamer who feels a higher cosmic calling leaving her eager to see the world and experience a life beyond her upbringing. But obligations to her family keep Sloane tethered to the Academy, as does her fear of crossing the family line. But Sloane has plans… and one day she might just be brave enough to act on them.

CAZZIE DAVID (86’ed, NY Times best-selling author of “No One Asked for This”) will play JAYME, Sparrow #6. Jayme is a loner hidden under a hoodie. She doesn’t say much because she doesn’t have to. Jayme has a fear-inducing snarl. Catch a glimpse of it, and you’ll run across the street to avoid what follows. Smart and sharp as a knife, she spends most of her time hanging with Alphonso, her only friend.

EXISTENTIAL DREAD INDUCING PSYKRONIUM CUBE (Newcomer) will play CHRISTOPHER, Sparrow #7. Christopher is a telekinetic cube of unknown origin. He can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear. He acts as the Sparrows’ consulted oracle who hands out incredible advice and serves as the family mediator. Trustworthy, loyal, and is treated by the Sparrows like any other sibling, Christopher is a force to be reckoned with.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 will consist of 10 episodes, with main cast members Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore all confirmed top return. Steve Blackman is also back on board as showrunner.

OT: Lmaoo there's a rumble of thunder going on Twitter about DC. There are reports going around that Batgirl, Supergirl, and WonderWoman are the new trinity going forward.

@ShellyMando - I’m not against them doing it I just know personally I’m more entertained by NBA than WNBA. What’s really just preference gets misconstrued as sexism. I’m sure there are sexists lol, not me, do it, but you’ll lose some viewers, all I’m sayin

@ShellyMando - well, so long as they are the new Trinity and not the original Trinity. We've seen the OGs in comics and now on film. Let's see what this new angle has to offer. If it's good, we get good stuff, and if it's bad they will drop it too.

I still haven't gotten around to the second season. I wasn't in love with the first. I liked the books and was concerned they wouldn't go full on I to the nutty elements.

Can I get opinions from those who haven't and also have read the books. Is season 2 worth it, and should I invest time before season 3?

@ElricReturns - Yep the first season was pretty mediocre. I didn't get all the hype about it. Didn't watch season 2.

@ElricReturns - Well, there are some similar aspects (they are in Dallas just like in the books), there is the time-travel and the danish (?) villains.

But definitely don't expect some sort of action with JFK.

This is understandable, because Netflix definitely wouldn't want to mess with American history.

I have the same opinion as you, the tv show is okay, whereas the books have their unique weirdness. It is saved by cool actors with good chemistry, sadly it doesn't come with much action, that you'd expect with powered individuals.

@ElricReturns - Didnt read the comics. Didnt think season 1 was as great as everyone made it to be. Season 2 was great though and improved on 1's weaknesses. Definitely watch it before 3.

I haven't seen season 2 but I am curious about one thing, now that Ellen Paige has gone through the surgery, what happens to her (or his, I don't know how these things works) character?

@KanchaCheena - well it's Elliott Paige now, and I've also been curious how they intend to handle his character in the show. It's not the first time in cinema or acting history one gender has played another, so I don't have any doubts Elliot could still act the character, as the character was never Ellen Paige. But I wonder if this is the last female role Elliot takes, or even if they change the character for Elliot. I don't know what the character is like currently in the show but, I'm also a bit curious.

The actors on the show have pretty good chemistry, even though the show is just okay (Doom Patrol is the king of all weird cb tv shows).

But I'm always happy to see Elliot Page. She/he is a hero.

Sweet. I didn't know Justin Cornwell was in this. He was great in Training Day with Bill Paxton and who I'd like to see take on Arnus, AKA Augustus Freeman IV, AKA ICON.

Season 2 of this show sucked. It was painfully boring with dumb character motivations and luthers power level was all over the place

So I loved season 1 and season 2 had its good moments so I tried to read the comic trades… I genuinely couldn’t finish any of them. I thought the writing was horrible, the artwork was all over the place and the story was either rushed or didn’t make sense. It’s pretty rare that I feel like the source materials is worse than the film/tv version lol

Soooo is Eliot Page gonna act as a woman or are they just completely changing the character to reflect the actor?
