Ahead of its 70-minute premiere on May 4th (that's Star Wars Day to me and you), Lucasfilm has released a new poster for Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The spotlight is put on the team at the heart of the series, but Emperor Palpatine's shadow looms large...which really doesn't bode well for the clones!

What role he'll play in the proceedings remains to be seen, but as this series picks up in the aftermath of The Clone Wars animated series, the Bad Batch will likely be following the Sith Lord's orders.

This is a great poster, and we'll have much more to share with you about the Disney+ series soon.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch - a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army - each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.

The series is executive produced by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian), Athena Portillo (The Clone Wars), Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels) and Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance) with Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian) as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer (Star Wars Resistance). Rau is also serving as supervising director with Corbett as head writer.

I rewatched Revenge of the Sith recently just to see how it compares to the novelization (which I also finished recently), and I gotta admit the novel did a lot of favors for the movie in my opinion. Like it even more now.

That said, when I rewatched Revenge of the Sith I noticed that the Supreme Chancellor/Emperor's shuttle is pretty much the same one as the Bad Batch one, only with a different cockpit.

Ah, seems like Josh Wilding heard / knows something about the series. Is there a twist akin to "Baby Yoda" in the premiere ?

Really excited for this one. The clone stories in Clone Wars were some of the best stuff in that series and hopefully they can translate that over to a full series centered on them. Also this is an interesting period in Star Wars that we haven’t gotten to see a lot of- the reign of the empire and transition out of the clone war and the republic.

Do we know who's playing Emperor Palaptine yet? I know Tim Curry was at the end of Clone Wars og run, but he's since had a stroke

@Dredd97 - Sam Witwer voiced him in Rebels, and Ian McDiarmid in the Rebels finale.

@Amuro - not a big fan of Witwer's Emperor. Hopefully it's McDiarmid

@MrDandy - They should've adapted Son of Dathomir instead of wasting the resources on a backdoor pilot.
