The Mandalorian's second season delivered surprise after surprise, but it was Temuera Morrison's return as Boba Fett that really blew us away. The actor, finally given the chance to put his own spin on the bounty hunter after playing Jango Fett and dubbing the character's lines in the original trilogy, kicked ass and made fans fall in love with Boba all over again.
Now, he's set to reprise the role in The Book of Boba Fett this Christmas on Disney+, but what can we expect from the series? Talking to Rotten Tomatoes, Morrison stressed that he couldn't reveal much, but did proceed to share some new information about the show.
"[We’re] going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back," the actor teased. "Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him."
It sounds like we can expect to find out what happened to Boba after he escaped the Sarlacc Pit and what he was getting up to, minus his armour, on Tatooine.
Later, Morrison would go on to confirm that Robert Rodriguez has been enlisted to helm episodes of The Book of Boba Fett! "After having a good meeting with these guys and they outlined a few things, it was just wonderful. Again, it was nice to work with these people, and it was just a great opportunity. They brought Robert back in to direct a few more. There’s some wonderful directors involved."
"It’s hard work now, what we do now, a whole new system, with COVID in place, health and safety regulations," he concluded.
Lucasfilm and Disney+ have yet to share anything from The Book of Boba Fett, though we're definitely anticipating that changing soon (there's no Star Wars Celebration this year, but a trailer or first look of some sort has to be on the horizon). In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on these reveals from Morrison in the comments section below.
