ANDOR Social Media Reactions Heap Praise On The STAR WARS Series But Warn Fans About A Slow Start

The social media embargo has lifted for Andor, and while the response thus far has been extremely positive, it sounds like Star Wars fans should brace themselves for a slow start. Read on for details!

Despite the premiere being less than a week away, it really doesn't feel like there's been all that much buzz for Andor. We're not sure why that is, but perhaps it will change following these glowing social media reactions? (first shared on SFFGazette.com)

Quite a few critics got to watch the first four episodes back in July (before the premiere date shifted from August to September), and they've finally been allowed to share some initial thoughts. As you can see below, the response is overwhelmingly positive for the most part, even though the consensus does appear to be that Andor takes some time to really get going.

Whether casual Star Wars fans will have the patience to watch three episodes in one sitting when it sounds like the first couple don't have much of a hook is hard to say. Regardless, we're definitely pleased to see this is another Disney+ series that has the potential to live up to expectations.

Below, you'll find a variety of verdicts, including some from the ComicBookMovie.com team. The review embargo lifts on September 20, so you'll want to keep an eye on SFFGazette.com around 9am PT/12pm ET.

Andor, a spy thriller from Lucasfilm filmed over two 12-episode seasons, takes place five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The era is filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

The show presents Star Wars from a different perspective, focusing on everyday people whose lives are affected by the Empire. The decisions they make have real consequences, and the stakes for them - and the Galaxy - couldn’t be higher.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Tony Gilroy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is also the creator and showrunner.

Andor premieres on Disney+ with its first three episodes on September 21.
