STAR WARS: ANDOR Character Posters Put The Spotlight On The Show's Rebel Heroes

Lucasfilm has released three new posters for Andor, shifting the spotlight to the show's Rebellious heroes: Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), and Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård).

Lucasfilm primarily focused on Andor during its D23 panel this past weekend, releasing one final trailer for the Disney+ series. With a week to go before the first three episodes premiere, excitement for the show still feels a little muted, though we're sure you'll agree these new character posters are a pretty cool way to remind us that the Rogue One prequel is on the horizon.

As you can see, the spotlight is put on Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), and the mysterious Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård).

Talking to fans on Saturday, Luna said (via SFFGazette.com), "We’re going to go back five years before Rogue One, and you won’t believe where you find these characters. You’ll see Cassian and not believe he was able to do what they did in Rogue One. It’s about a revolutionary and bringing change and hopefully a story you will love to watch."

Production on season 2 begins soon, so no matter what fans make of this one, Lucasfilm will wrap up Cassian's story across 12 episodes that span an additional four years of his life (the first season takes place over one). We have a feeling Andor could end up exceeding expectations, so it's a show that will be worth keeping a close eye on.

Andor, a spy thriller from Lucasfilm filmed over two 12-episode seasons, takes place five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The era is filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

The show presents Star Wars from a different perspective, focusing on everyday people whose lives are affected by the Empire. The decisions they make have real consequences, and the stakes for them - and the Galaxy - couldn’t be higher.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Tony Gilroy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is also the creator and showrunner.

Andor premieres on Disney+ with its first three episodes on September 21.

Every show on the app should have a production budget like Andor. The cinematography is stellar, set pieces are awesome, and even the cgi looks FINISHED. Now let's see if they hired someone smarter than a chimp to write it

@bobevanz - if you're implying that chimps wrote previous Star Wars shows, I'm gonna pack up my bags and leave. If they understand how human emotions work, they surely know how to exploit us and become our overlords.
