OBI-WAN KENOBI Poster Teases A Fiery Final Duel With Darth Vader In Tomorrow's Episode

A new poster for Obi-Wan Kenobi has surfaced, and it teases what looks set to be an epic duel between Ben and Darth Vader in a setting that will be instantly familiar to fans of Revenge of the Sith...

This Wednesday, the final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi will arrive on Disney+ and to say excitement is at an all-time high would be an understatement. While there have been rumblings of a second season, this is the last chapter in this specific story and is expected to pit the Jedi Master against Darth Vader one final time before their clash in A New Hope.

We really don't know what to expect from that battle, but a newly revealed poster (which first surfaced on Reddit and was shared by SFFGazette.com) might just offer some clues. As you can see below, Ben is shown confronting Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar!

Now, there's a chance this doesn't reflect what we'll see in the show itself, but it does appear to be an officially released poster and this would be a fitting place for their duel to play out. Whatever the case may be, it's a gorgeous piece of imagery and a fun sneak peek at what may be to come when the Sith Lord takes his final shot at revenge against the man he once called a friend.

With Reva now aware that Luke and Leia are Anakin's children and the latter still a long way from home, this finale will have a lot to address. Hopefully, director Deborah Chow sticks the landing.

On those season 2 hopes, Obi-Wan Kenobi Head Writer recently told Deadline, "I can't speak to any of these questions [Laughs]. But I love Star Wars, and the experience of working on Star Wars hasn't changed that in any way. It's only made it a bigger part of my life, and I feel lucky to be a part of it."

Well, that's not a no, right?

5. Reva's New Mission

29839283

We suspected there might be more to Reva than meets the eye, and that's now been confirmed. While it's still unclear how she fell into the hands of the Sith Inquisitors, the villain was, in fact, one of the Jedi Younglings attacked by Anakin Skywalker on the night of Order 66. All this time, she's been waiting for the chance to take her revenge on Darth Vader.

Alas, she tried and failed on Jabiim to defeat the Sith Lord. In fact, she was stabbed for her troubles, but survived that wound and found Ben's message from Bail Organa revealing that Luke Skywalker is hidden on Tatooine. With that, Reva now appears to know that Anakin's children were taken from him.

While she may have infiltrated the Sith Inquisitors to kill Vader, Reva is by no means a hero. We're guessing she either intends to kill Luke as a way of taking revenge on Anakin or because she hopes to train the boy and use him as a weapon against his father. This flies in the face of recent plot leaks, and something tells us the character's story won't end with this series.

4. Birth Of The Rebellion

298392831

There had been rumblings that the group helping Obi-Wan rescue Princess Leia in this series might meet a grisly end at Darth Vader's hands. That's still possible, but it feels like the Sith Lord's focus is going to be on his former Master and not people he doesn't realise the importance of quite yet.

O'Shea Jackson has done a great job playing Kawlan Roken, and we believe there's a strong chance the character could be a founding member of the Rebellion. This group is clearly going to play a pivotal role in returning Princess Leia to her parents, and that might just be the moment Bail Organa realises the best way to fight back against the Empire is to rebel against its control.

With that in mind, don't be surprised if a few familiar faces end up finding their way into upcoming Star Wars projects like Andor or Jedi: Survivor. The fact that Force-sensitive beings are involved suggests the latter is more likely, but it would be a wasted opportunity to end their story here.

3. A Deadly New Foe

2983928312

At the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi's second episode, Reva stabbed The Grand Inquisitor through the stomach and left the villain for dead. Subsequent episodes seemed to confirm that he'd died, which greatly confused fans who know how his story ends in the Star Wars Rebels animated series.

Was that version a clone? Could he be a different Grand Inquisitor or had Lucasfilm just made a major continuity error? The truth is that the villain simply survived his wound, and hiding that fact appeared to be part of Darth Vader's plan to use Reva's hatred for him as a means of finding Obi-Wan. As we head into the finale, now is the perfect time to give The Grand Inquisitor the chance to shine.

While Ben's battle with Vader should be a priority (we'll get to that), it would be a blast to see Obi-Wan also go toe-to-toe with the Sith Lord's subordinate. Failing that, there's always a chance he's sent after Reva again, but it would be shocking for The Grand Inquisitor to continue taking a back seat even after rising from the dead!

2. Rematch Time

29839283122

Obi-Wan appears to have sensed that Reva has learned of Luke's existence, and while you have to imagine that will lead to him rushing back to Tatooine, there has to be at least one more duel with Darth Vader on the cards. After being entirely overpowered by his former friend in the show's third episode, we've seen Ben's connection to the Force increase, surely putting him on a par with Vader again.

Seeing a more evenly balanced fight between the two promises to be nothing short of amazing, and while we can't even begin to guess how it will end (well, we know neither of them dies), it has to be a big moment for Obi-Wan. Tala Durith repeatedly told Ben that he needs to move on from the past, so perhaps Obi-Wan will forgive Anakin and refuse to strike the villain down as he once did on Mustafar?

The Jedi Master leaving Vader to continue his reign of terror throughout the Galaxy would be divisive. However, if it's a crucial part of one day bringing Anakin back to the light, it could be worth it.

1. Master Qui-Gon?

298392831222

On multiple occasions in this series, Obi-Wan has attempted to reach out through the Force to Qui-Gon Jinn. He was the one responsible for bringing Anakin Skywalker into the Jedi Order once upon a time, though we don't anticipate Ben looking to call out his Master to answer for past mistakes!

Instead, it's Qui-Gon who is likely going to be responsible for helping Obi-Wan become the wiser Jedi we met in A New Hope. A Liam Neeson cameo might be a bit much to hope for, but we'd be shocked if, after overcoming Darth Vader, Ben doesn't at least hear his Master's voice so he can finally learn how to live on through the Force after death.

The Rise of Skywalker was supposed to show Rey surrounded by Force Ghosts. Given Vader's connection to Qui-Gon, it would be pretty mind-blowing to see Anakin come face-to-face with someone who once meant so much to him...

It’d be cool if we got a real duel of the fates lightsaber fight somewhere in the finale.

The fact that Reva is still alive is a joke. And I have no problem with the character. But to have Vader stab her(for a second time) and to just leave her there and not finish her is bad writing. It's like how Austin powers goofed on the Bond films where the villain would leave the room and just assume the plan to kill a captured Bond will all just work out. And of course he escapes.

Anyone else annoyed that all the trailers had original Star Wars music but the shows actual music has been cheap sounding, disappointing and extremely lackluster?

@AnthonyVonGeek - I enjoy the show, but I have to agree with you here.

This is the second time Disney mis-leads us with using Duel of The Fates in a SW trailer, then ends up not using it in the film/show at all.

This final episode will be rushed. Add the awful writing and horrible directing, this show has been a major letdown.

Like most Disney+ shows, this was another disappointing show.

I mean the issue here is they went with Nostalgia over stakes. We know Luke, Leia and Obi Wan survive.
Had Obi-Wan been forced off planet to protect a group of Jedi refugees who want him to restart a Jedi order, then we see characters who could die.

Instead he has to rescue Leia because we know Leia.

I am not overly enjoying it, I am thankful Ewen is a good actor as he is elevating this show above its actual quality.
