Obi-Wan Kenobi's finale wrapped up the six-part limited series in a way that has left the vast majority of Star Wars fans happy. As well as tying up all its loose ends, the final episode fixed some apparent plot holes from the original trilogy and left Ben in a place where it's easy enough to imagine his next adventure being a decade later in A New Hope

However, there's no denying that we could quite easily pick up with Obi-Wan on Tatooine again, all without contradicting where his journey ends. It's vital that Lucasfilm find a story worth telling rather than just dropping another batch of episodes simply because it's what fans want, but this six-part series definitely provides a few hints about where another season could take us.

In this feature, we're taking a closer look at those moments to figure out what direction Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 could potentially head in, and the ways it would address the handful of lingering questions the show did leave us with.

To take a look through this breakdown, all you guys need to do is hit the "Next" button below!

5. Darth Vader's Mission Is Over...For Now

93439489321

After being defeated by Obi-Wan, a furious Darth Vader returns to Mustafar and vows to do whatever it takes to find and destroy his former Master. Emperor Palpatine seems concerned by this and dissuades his Apprentice from continuing down this path, especially as he senses weakness within the Sith Lord.

We caught a glimpse of that in Anakin's eye during his final exchange with Obi-Wan, and another clash between the two could very well see Vader tempted to turn his back on the Dark Side. A fourth battle between these former friends before A New Hope would arguably feel way too forced (no pun intended), but that doesn't mean the villain can't still factor into a second season.

Something happened between the events of this series and Episode IV that left Vader feeling like he was the Master now. Having his story play out in the periphery might be fun, particularly if it drives home to Ben that leaving his former Padawan alive...well, it might not have been the best idea.

We have an idea who could serve as an antagonist to both characters and will get to that a little later...

4. Birth Of The Rebellion

934394893211

The "soldiers" who helped Obi-Wan in the second half of this series don't get a huge amount of screentime, but appear to be potential founders of what would become known as the Rebel Alliance. They're fighting the good fight and have ties to the Jedi, so we'd bet on them factoring into any number of future stories, including this summer's Andor.

However, seeing as the Rogue One prequel takes place around five years after Obi-Wan Kenobi, there's a good chance some of these Rebels could cross paths with Ben again before that.

It all depends on when a possible season 2 takes place, though we'd bet on Lucasfilm not wanting to get too close to A New Hope. Either way, with Luke Skywalker safe with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru and Princess Leia back on Alderaan, it makes way more sense for this ragtag group - and some of the Jedi they've helped - to turn to Obi-Wan for help.

Don't be surprised if that ends up involving Cal Kestis' live-action debut!

3. Reva's Story Is Far From Done

9343948932112

Reva and the Sith Inquisitors were an interesting addition to Obi-Wan Kenobi. On the one hand, the show really wouldn't have suffered without them. and seeing as they never clashed with Ben, the series didn't do the best job of revealing what it is they can do.

Despite that, Reva's story was one we greatly enjoyed following, particularly after learning more about her history with Anakin Skywalker and how she managed to survive Order 66.

While we know she hid among the bodies of her fellow slaughtered Younglings, what we don't know is what led to Reva falling into the clutches of the Sith Inquisitors. That's the sort of story a future novel or comic book can probably tell, but as for what comes next, there's not really a logical choice of series for the conflicted villain to be part of.

Andor is a big maybe, but The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, The Acolyte, and Skeleton Crew all take place at the wrong times. With that in mind, Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 picking up with Reva and possibly reuniting her with Ben might make the most sense and lead to some exciting new stories.

2. Obi-Wan Kenobi's Training Begins

93439489321121

In one of Obi-Wan Kenobi's best fan-pleasing moments, Liam Neeson returns as Qui-Gon Jinn and suggests this is where Ben's training begins.

We know the fallen Jedi Master figured out how to return as a Force Ghost sometime after his demise in The Phantom Menace, and it's this training that will eventually make Obi-Wan more powerful than even Vader could imagine. It might be fun to see some of those lessons, but it probably shouldn't be the focus of a second season.

It could certainly factor into where his story goes next (heck, perhaps he'll even have to track down Yoda on Dagobah), but by freeing Obi-Wan of the responsibility of constantly watching over Luke, Ben can leave the planet if he really needs to.

Hopefully, Neeson can be convinced to return as an exploration of the dynamic between them during this time would be a joy to explore. We could even get some flashbacks to their adventures prior to Episode I!

1. A New Foe

934394893211212

The costume above has struck a chord with Star Wars fans. Taking inspiration from a statue released way back in 2012, it's also been featured in various Marvel Comics titles that have showcased the further adventures of Obi-Wan on Tatooine. It's no wonder, then, that fans are eager to see what Ben does next.

With Vader potentially sidelined, the big question will be who would make a worthy foe to the powerful Jedi Master. Rumour has it the original plan for this series was to have Maul return to pursue Obi-Wan and Luke throughout the Galaxy. That idea can be revisited (minus the kid), fleshing out the villain's Star Wars Rebels mission to hunt his old foe down.

Lucasfilm might have to play a little fast and loose with continuity to make this work, but with Dave Filoni's input, we're sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out.

There's nothing specifically in Obi-Wan Kenobi that points to Maul appearing. However, we do think the series opens the door to the possibility down the line and, if The Phantom Menace baddie faces Vader along the way, that would be even better!

Reva made absolutely no sense to me. She was acting bad to get revenge on Vader all while killing innocent people including children? She was happily gonna torture Leia and tried to kill Luke then all the sudden cause she cries shes completely forgiven?

@AnthonyVonGeek - well she didn’t seem happy about torturing Leia. Like she was trying very hard to get Leia to confess without it

I'd absolutely watch a second season with Maul as the main bad guy

@Blergh - agreed. Maul is just about the only reason for me to think they should do a second season.
