OBI-WAN KENOBI's Opening Scene Takes Us Back To A Crucial Moment In Jedi History - Possible SPOILERS

Excitement for Obi-Wan Kenobi continues to build (especially after yesterday's trailer reveal) and Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com) has now shared some intriguing insights into how the Disney+ series begins. As a result, spoilers obviously follow from this point on!

Apparently, the limited series kicks off with a flashback to the events of Order 66 in the Jedi Temple. Clone Troopers are shown attacking two young Padawan learners who are being protected by their respective Jedi Masters. Unfortunately, they're unable to fend off the Emperor Palpatine-controlled clones, but their students manage to escape thanks to their sacrifice.

It's unclear whether Lucasfilm will take this opportunity to show more of what happened to Grogu and how he survived, but we'd bet on these Padawans being more than just random characters. Previous reports have suggested Obi-Wan Kenobi will introduce a force-wielder who searches for the reclusive Jedi Master as well as new members of the Sith Inquisitors. Could it be that the two escapees ended up heading down vastly different paths on the Light and Dark sides of the Force?

We'll have to wait and see, but this event series promises to be a must-watch for fans. As well as telling the story of "Ben Kenobi," all signs point to the show deepening the Star Wars franchise's mythology.

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat - the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 25.

@Malatrova234 - My guy, you’re on comicbookmovie.com. You realise comic book characters are literally warriors who fight for social justice. Superheroes are the OG woke characters. And the Jedi bunch of monks who fight against a Nazi regime. But yeah, at least they didn’t make him woke.

@PhoenixBlade - the only Nazis i saw were the so call "resistance" and the small failed one planet "new republic" against a good will effort to restore real order and peace to the galaxy.

@PhoenixBlade - I think some may have a different perception, than mine, of the word "woke". At least one of my perceptions: Those who attack and/or harass and/or insult etc., physically or verbally etc. others for the sake of political correctness and such.

Not people who stop others from being assaulted and such.

In my opinion, nazis is about as far away from actual politics as you can get: They're whole thing, as I understand it, is white supremacy and/or genetic superiority. I don't view fighting against people who pursue these things in violence and killing and such, as particularly woke or political, imo.

As a devout Christian, a servant of the Most High God, my soul saved by Him, in the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross, I, and only because of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit's guidance, view protecting people from violence and harm, like that, as a moral duty, not a political one.

@dagenspear - The definition of the word "woke" is "aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)." https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/woke

@dagenspear - David’s kindly supplied the whole definition. But Lucas himself said the Empire was based on the Nazi’s. What you’re forgetting is that Palpatine beloved in human superiority. Not mentioned in the films but is highly alluded to and confirmed canon.

“ Previous reports have suggested Obi-Wan Kenobi will introduce a force-wielder who searches for the reclusive Jedi Master as well as new members of the Sith Inquisitors.”

This is true because the rumor went on to say that this same character is then killed by the Inquisitors and put on display in Mos Eisley for all to see and draw Kenobi out of hiding, and we see that exact scene with Uncle Owen (and the body in the corner) in the trailer.
