OBI-WAN KENOBI Rumored To Include Live-Action Debut Of Darth Vader's Inquisitors

The cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi has been announced, but aside from a few familiar faces, we don't really know who anyone is playing. There have been a few reveals about the Disney+ series, though, including the fact that Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader (a sign the show won't only focus on the time "Ben" spent on Tatooine).

Now, though, it's been reported by Kessel Run Transmissions' Corey Van Dyke (via Steele Wars) that Moses Ingram (The Queen's Gambit) will be playing one of the Empire's Inquisitors.

"This isn’t something I’m running as a scoop because it’s only from one person so until I hear from other people, I don’t know," he explained. "I was told that she is definitely an Inquisitor so we’ll see. I don’t know. I’m still running it with other sources."

Since Star Wars Rebels, Lucasfilm has explored the idea of these Inquisitors in everything from comic books to the Jedi Fallen Order video game. This should be taken as a rumour for now, but it would certainly make sense for us to meet some of the Inquisitors given when Obi-Wan Kenobi actually takes place (a decade after Revenge of the Sith).

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, the Inquisitors were former Jedi who surrendered to the Empire and allowed themselves to be turned to the Dark Side so they could hunt their former allies.

Whether this is a new Inquisitor or a live-action version of a familiar character remains to be seen, but we're betting on the former. Obi-Wan Kenobi is definitely shaping up to be a series that will have been worth the wait, and we'll hopefully get some sort of official first look before the year is over.

"The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat," reads the Obi-Wan Kenobi synopsis, "the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader."

The cast includes Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. We don't know when exactly Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+, but 2022 is likely.

@Repian - came here to say the same thing. She probably has issues with Kenobi, as he was on the council at the time Barriss bombed the Temple.

@Repian - you keep talking. This would be the best idea I’ve seen with Barriss Offee since the new continuity [frick]ed her up.

They probably won't use Vader or Maul as the main villain, so it makes sense they go with an Inquisitor. It's the best next thing when it comes to lightsaber users.

As for which Inquisitor, I guess it has to be the third or the fourth, as those are the only two who we haven't seen so far.

So basically Obi Wan will HAVE to leave Tatooine in this series. There's no way the Inquisitors would hunt him down to Tatooine. That would mean the Empire knew he was there and just decided to leave him alone, or forgot lol. Which wouldn't make sense.

@CorndogBurglar - or a rogue Inquisitor goes there without telling the Empire

It makes sense. The Inquisitors were hunting down the Jedi at this time. They are interesting as past Jedi and Padawan tortured and turned to the dark side

How do people feel about the inquisitors in Canon? I just feel it kind of ruins the whole "rule of 2" thing plus did Palpatine influence the aswell as anakin? In Canon a darkside user must kill a jedi and make there crystal "bleed" ti turn red, so who did they kill so quickly? What were they doing and how where they protected during order 66?

@TocharianMonk - in new canon inquisitors are mostly padawans captured during the war and tortutured into turning to the dark side. They then use them to hunt other Jedi in hiding. They aren’t sith or apprentices to a lord so don’t break the rule of two.

Their lightsabers are all the same and standard issue so it’s not their own blades or crystals.

I personally like them. With the clones gone by the mid-reign of the empire they needed a threat to rebels and Jedi in hiding beyond just empire goons. They use them well in Rebels S1 and Jedi Fallen Order

It goes the same route as rebels, Vader behind and pulling the strings and Inquisitors after Obi-Wan
