Mischa Collins has been confirmed to be returning to Supernatural when the 10th season airs later this year on The CW.
Fans of the character feared he would not return as Collins was yet to sign a contract to appear in the tenth season. Castiel has featured on the show since the fourth season where the character has been both part of the guest starring and regular cast since.

Collins recently spoke to E! News about returning to play the angel: "I don’t know what is left other than cross-dressing Cas. He’s been crazy, he’s been megalomaniacal, he’s been contrite, he’s been self-loathing, he’s been whimsical, he’s been human, he’s been a leviathan,”

Adding: “I think there’s enough here they want to go back down any of those roads, there’s plenty to mine. But he has not done cross-dressing yet, so that is a pretty wide-open field right there!”

Showrunner, Jeremy Carver  had this to say of the season 9 finale “All bets are off when Sam, Dean and Castiel take the fight to Metatron. Uneasy alliances and brutal choices await… all culminating in shocking consequences.”

Dean discovers there is a conspiracy amongst Castiel’s angel followers and at the heart of it is Tessa, the Reaper. Guy Bee directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb

This season started off great, then went downhill. It's starting to finally pick back up but I really hope 10th season is more like 5 or 8

Well about time I guess.

I admit, I haven't watched since season 6. I cannot believe this got renewed once again! And not because I think it's bad, but I just feel like it has gone on long enough. Even the 6th season, which had some good episodes for sure...still felt like a lot of retread.

Awesome, apart from the brothers he's the best bit in the series!

@ruadh: a lot of people agree season 6 was the weakest--you should try 7 and 8. 7's okay, but 8's really great.

I really hope that they move out of this whole "family issues" arc in this season because it's really ruining the show.

I have a friend that watches this show.. I've seen good eps and terrible ones when we hang out occasionally.

I will admit, the "leviathan" season was pretty cool. Was that season 8??

He comes over on Tuesdays to watch SHIELD and Supernatural and I can say that the current season REALLY blows...I pray they find a really awesome storyline, some great guest stars, and a proper way to end it next season... Anymore would be a joke...

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE THE BROTHERS WINCHESTER DIED NOW?!?

Sera Gamble was good as a writer--terrible as a producer. She was responsible for Season 6 being the mess that it was, and Season 7(leviathan season), while much better, wasn't better than alright for the show.

i'm thinking they should have ended this series after the Leviathan. They done killed every thing out there what more can these writers come up with.

@Skeeman: Hoping that if they end in Season 10 they meet God. That could make for an interesting setup.

@ruadh: no problem!
