Jeffrey Dean Morgan is returning to Supernatural

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that twelve years after his death, John Winchester is all set to return for the series' landmark 300th episode, which is currently in production, and while details on his return are being kept under wraps for now, it's sure-to-be an epic hour as he reunites with his hunter sons Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).

This episode could also mark the first time the original John and Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) have shared the screen, in present-day, since the pilot, which would make the milestone episode even more memorable.

Co-showrunner Andrew Dabb expressed his excitement in a statement and also teased a number of other surprises. “We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars.

The 300th episode is titled "Lebanon" and will air on February 7 at 8 p.m. ET.

"The Spear" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

THE BEST LAID PLANS - Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) enlist the help of their pal Garth (guest star DJ Qualls) to gain inside information on what Michael may be planning. The brothers split up to each go after weapons that can aid in their fight against the Archangel, but this may be a fight our heroes cannot win. The episode was directed by Amyn Kaderali and written by Robert Berens (#1409). Original Airdate 12/13/2018.

After Grey's Anatomy he became so bitter and pretentious, nothing was good enough for him, he said no to any come-back in all the shows he'd been a part of, including Supernatural, but he seems to have changed so much.

So many actors and singers go through that entitlement phase, then as time passes they become more chill, more humble, and more open and accessible. It's great to see that after what may be his biggest role yet in pop culture, he's down to do some fan service and just happy to do his job. I really respect that.

They’ve already found and used every special weapon out there. This is beyond ridiculous now.

JDM told me this was the goal a couple years ago when we talked at a convention. I said that John Winchester really needed to make another appearance before the show ends. He got very excited and said that was absolutely the plan and they were going to try and make it happen if the show made it to 300 episodes. It is going to be great having him back even if it is just for one episode.
