After a big time jump, the premiere opens with Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) still gone. While their whereabouts will be revealed quickly, the question of what happened while they were there will be a season-long arc. Elena (Nina Dobrev) will be grieving over the loss of Damon by making some surprising choices and bonding with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Alaric (Matt Davis), who does some bonding of his own with a woman he meets. Get ready for a handful of new faces, including a militia leader (Colin Ferguson) and a tough doctor at the university hospital (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). Matt (Zach Roerig) will be thriving as he gets involved in the new magic-less community, while Tyler (Michael Trevino), now back to a human with the werewolf gene, will return to his testosterone-filled, hard-headed personality. Will he reconnect with Caroline (Candice Accola), whom executive producer Julie Plec says will take the loss of Bonnie and Damon "in a weird way the hardest"?

The Vampire Diaries features:
Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert/Katherine Pierce
Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore
Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore
Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert
Kat Graham as Bonnie Bennett
Candice Accola as Caroline Forbes
Zach Roerig as Matt Donovan
Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood
Matt Davis as Alaric Saltzman
Michael Malarkey as Enzo

I was coaxed into watching TVD by my girl but honestly I have to say, the first few seasons are damn good if a bit sappy here and there. I thought it'd be as crappy as Twilight but it wasn't. It fell off hard in season 4 on through though.

In terms of storytelling:
1. Excellent (GOT, House of Cards, Flash, Modern Family)
2. Damn Good (Arrow, Grey's Anatomy, Person Of Interest, New Girl)
3. Good (Scandal, Homeland, Jane the Virgin)
4. Mediocre (Big Bang Theory [was great once], The Good Wife, Black-ish)
5. Unsatisfactory (Agents of Shield, Gotham, Revenge)
6. Bad (Vampire Diaries)

@JasonBlue
while your rating is waaaaaaay off (having te Flash before Agents of Shield is ludacris), I must tip my hat to you for being able to follow 18 TV shows and still have time to come on here and comment, let alone have any other type of life at all...really though, 18 TV SHOWS? that is insane.

The Vampire Diaries can get a bit too "teen" for me and I'm freaking 16. The spin-off "The Originals" is much better.

@JasonBlue - Clearly you have not watched the show.

The first couple of seasons were kinda too teeny/soap for me. However it's been much much better as of late. I'm a fan of a number of the actors and writers involved. Also, if you have a chance, check out The Originals. One of the best spin off shows out there (Flash rules them all)

Elena is probably the most annoying character to ever be on a TV show. The Originals is so much better than this show. I liked the first couple seasons but it has taken a turn for the worst.

Pretty much, I actually enjoyed most of season 5 because of Kathrine. Obviously she was killed off and well that pretty much killed the show for me.

I used to watch this show here and there but since they decided to kill off their most badass and hottest vampire(a true vampire) this show can die for all I care.

Unless of course you have the great Kathrine Pierce con her way out of hell/oblivion where ever the hell those stupid writers sent her.

Drop the Elena and Damon bull crap and get back to fighting, you know pulling hearts out and cutting heads off with your hands.

"Elena is probably the most annoying character to ever be on a TV show."
Yup

"also it doesn't have anything to do with cbm so stop posting news from this shitfest "

Actually they do have their own comic book, so it is in fact comic book related. You don't like the show(am guessing you've never seen it, don't blame you)? then just don't click on the link.
