VENOM Just Added Fight And Stunt Coordinators With Seriously Impressive Resumes

The cast of Venom has been growing steadily for months now and things behind the scenes are looking equally as impressive thanks to the addition of some seriously awesome fight and stunt coordinators.

According to a new report, Venom has added a fight coordinator in the form of Tom Connolly and stunt coordinators, Chris O'Hara and Jack Gill. The first two have worked together on John Wick and The Avengers, while both have individual credits for the likes of Logan and Baby Driver. Gill, on the other hand, has contributed to four of the past Fast & Furious films and 2016's Captain America: Civil War

While this news may not be up there with some of the casting announcements we've had recently, there's no denying that this is exciting. After all, fight choreography is a must for superhero movies and Venom would fall flat without action scenes which truly love us all amazed (especially with no Spidey).

The wall-crawler's absence remains a disappointment but if Venom is good, that will more than make up for him not being there to go to war with his arch-nemesis. It is, however, possible that a version of Peter Parker exists in this world; we'll have to wait and see! At least we know the action will be good!

It was also revealed yesterday that 50 Shades of Grey writer Kelly Marcel is working on a screenplay which was previously written by those behind The Dark Tower and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Is it bad that I'm actually excited for this?

I just don't see why Sony believes that Venom an original "Villain" is going to be a draw. That's like saying, "hey lets make alien but Alien is the hero!".

@rebelnmotion - exactly

@rebelnmotion - he's an anti-hero though, not a mindless monster. People go to see Batman movies for the Joker (at least I do), why not go see a Venom movie? He's an interesting character. He could be a new generation's jekyll and hyde. Spiderman at the end of the day will always be kid-stuff, as much as I love him. Power/responsibility, being good, all that stuff. Venom has the potential as a solo film to explore more adult, darker themes that grown ups can identify with, without the plot being 'and he fights spiderman'.

@connorblaze - Read Reign or maybe the first introduction of Venom. The symbiote looses it because peter rejects him. So, without Peter you don't get Venom. What adult themes to do you want to explore with an audience that has already been subjected to three Peter Parker's. "Broken home syndrome". I like Venom, but it's a waste of a property build. I support your decision though I hope I'm proved wrong. I like Tom Hardy and want success for him.

@connorblaze @rebelnmotion - While I want the R-rated stand alone Venom, I just wish they would introduce Spider-Man in the symbiote suit first. Venom's hatred for Spider-Man is because Peter rejected him, and his look mimic's Spider-Man's because of his previoius attachment to him. I don't know how you give a good explanation for Venom's look without that.

@connorblaze - @connorblaze - For the same reason I don't watch spin off shows or prequels. These "studios" have learned nothing from Marvel and how to manage their properties. I'm "not" saying that they have done everything right, but they have put themselves in a position to honor their characters. The Inhumans is a perfect example of how not to introduce characters via spin-off. The Defenders show'd you how to not create a team without highers stakes.

@Kman - just take away the white spider on his chest and you're done.
