Venom: Let There Be Carnage is definitely shaping up to be an interesting movie, and with Andy Serkis at the helm, it's likely going to be a very different experience to 2018's Venom. Well, mostly. The first trailer certainly felt pretty in line with what had come before, but the addition of Cletus Kasady?
That's pretty exciting, and a much better look at the sinister villain has now been revealed courtesy of some promo art shared by our friends at @thevenomsite.
Despite some uncertainty after the first look we got at Carnage in the teaser, it does look like this movie is sticking to the source material and presenting Cletus' alien "other" in a comic accurate way. He certainly appears to be a formidable foe for Venom based on what we see here, and this feels like a big upgrade from what we saw of the mostly quite generic Riot in the first movie.
Talking of Venom, he also gets his fair share of the spotlight, and it seems that "We Are Venom" tagline is going to be used a lot in the marketing campaign for the Marvel Comics adaptation.
"Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel's greatest and most complex characters," reads a brief synopsis that was released on the movie's newly launched website earlier this year. "Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage."
Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. It's set to be released in theaters globally this September.
