Venom: Let There Be Carnage has only been in theaters a couple of weeks, but Target has already revealed its exclusive cover art for the sequel's eventual Blu-ray release. We don't have a date on that yet, but Sony Pictures is reportedly set to respect the traditional theatrical window with this one.

It's a cool piece of imagery showing Tom Hardy's Venom squaring off with Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady. Unfortunately, we don't know the artist responsible for creating this imagery, but it appears as if we can expect the Venom follow-up to receive multiple special editions late 2021/early 2022.

We recently spoke to Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis about where the franchise could go next, and he expressed interest in taking Eddie Brock down that "Lethal Protector" route. "For sure. To arrive at that point, we needed to have this film to get those relationships cooking. I do think there’s huge fertile ground for Lethal Protector stories, definitely."

You can watch our full interview with Serkis above or, alternatively, read the whole thing right here.

Venom becoming a vigilante does feel like the natural next step for the character, though a meeting with Spider-Man could result in that being put on the backburner...unless Venom targets Peter Parker because he thinks he's a criminal, of course. Time will tell on that front, but Spider-Man: No Way Home should clear things up.

For now, check out this Blu-ray cover for Venom: Let There Be Carnage below:

Bruh, Avi Arad just wanted to sell more tickets and toys instead of doing a faithful adaptation. It’s fine, just admit it. This argument he poses never tracks well with me.

@YonnyLayna - fair. Still holds true for ticket sales. Arad said make it goofy or don’t bother doing it

I actually kinda dig that art. Reminds me of the artwork from these edgy skater posters my brothers had on their walls in the 90s I believe they collected out of magazines.

It’s really funny how all of the marketing shows Venom and Carnage fighting like it’s the main point of the film, it’s literally like the last 15 minutes of the movie.

The majority of this story is Eddie sulking around solving a mystery the audience already knows about from the first 5 minutes of the film and Venom just doing whatever. Meanwhile Carnage goes around PG-13 killing people and hacking computers with his tendrils.

This movie is complete ass.

@BroskiTroski - there is a comic run where he hacks into computers and terrorizes a few people. I believe it’s called Carnage Unleashed. I have had to defend this to a few people, but it still was pretty dumb.

@CaptainMexico - If you tell me “the comic did it too” I’m just gonna say it’s just as stupid regardless.

Here I go:

It’s just as stupid if the comics did it.

I laughed at a few things but man it was so disappointing. I’m not a big venom fan but I expected so much more from Serkis.

The Producers only care about the humor, jokes, cgi fights and selling toys, they don't give a shit about a movie with a good story or a good screenplay

If this world still exists, phase 5 has a LOT of making up to do. Hopefully we check all boxes in phase 4, and finally get to the 80s grit combined with stellar storytelling in 5. Wolverine needs to be Chuck Eastwood. Bad ass, tough as nails, dedicated to his goals. Make MARVEL great again. This elementary-dialogued, cgi shit-show, must end.
