Cabin Fever director Eli Roth's adaptation of Gearbox Software and 2K's Borderlands video game continues to assemble a heck of a cast, and the latest addition is Avengers: Infinity War actress Ariana Greenblatt.
The up-and-coming star, who played young Gamora via flashback in the Marvel epic, will take on the role of Tiny Tina, an "unstable, 13-year-old explosives expert."
"Ariana is a spectacular new talent in cinema," said Roth in a statement. "She has already worked with many of my close collaborators and everyone raves about her. She blew us all away in her audition, and I cannot wait to see her bring the wild, insane and unpredictable Tiny Tina to the big screen. She’s going to blow up on screen like one of Tina’s grenades."
Greenblatt will join Jack Black (School of Rock, King Kong) as the voice for Claptrap (or, CL4P-TP) the robot, Cate Blanchett (Thor: Ragnarok, The Lord of the Rings) as Lilith, Kevin Hart (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) as Roland, and Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Tannis.
Borderlands is a somewhat bizarre and very violent first-person, loot-based shooter which focuses on four “Vault Hunters” fending off local marauders while searching for advanced alien tech on a planet called Pandora. There have been three games released so far, and all have done very well. Borderlands 3 hit shelves in 2019 went on to sell over 8 million copies.
This big-screen take is being developed at Lionsgate and will work off a script from Chernobyl screenwriter Craig Mazin. Roth will also produce along with Avi and Ari Arad through their Arad Productions banner.
