Disney and Pixar's mightiest heroes are assembling in a brand new mobile game:
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode. Developed by PerBlue, this new "action-packed" mobile RPG features fan-favorite characters from across the various Disney and Pixar franchises, including
The Incredibles, Wreck-It Ralph, and more.
Your task, as the player, is to assemble these different characters into a team and battle together in 5 vs 5 match-ups. As an RPG, you'll be able to activate skills, equip gear, and level up individual characters in order to increase your overall power and take on tougher enemies. A short teaser trailer was released alongside today's announcement, sort of showcasing the action-centric gameplay of
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode.
Welcome to the digital City... and enjoy it while you can. A wicked virus is corrupting every pixel, turning even the heroes’ own friends and family against them! Pull together the best teams for the job, equip powerful gear, and battle against incredible odds to save your fellow heroes.
Only YOU can win the day! No cape required.
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode boasts a roster of over 30 Disney and Pixar heroes, although it appears early on that most of the characters stem from the more modern animated arm of the House of Mouse. Characters showcased in promotional material or mentioned in the press release include The Incredibles, Frozone, Wreck-It Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz, Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and others from Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios franchises. It's unclear if the game will eventually include traditional Disney animated characters, or
Star Wars or
Marvel characters.
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is set for release later this year on iOS and Android devices; however, pre-registration for the game is now open. Pre-registered players will have to option to receive a free hero of their choice (Mr. Incredible, Fix-It Felix, Jr., Nick Wilde, Jessie or Sulley with Boo) at launch.
