Beginning in France and from there Germany and shortly afterwards Top Cow begin publising Tomb Radier comic books. All of this effort came in handy because game publisher Eidos owned part of Top Cow. The comic was suppose to come out in 2007 from Top Cow but it never did.

Instead 2013 is the release date for the Tomb Raider comic thats written by Dark Horse and by lead game designer Rhianna Pratchett with Nicolas Daniel Selma and Andrea Mutti. Tomb Raider: The Beginning.

The 48 page cover:
:
follows the story of how the crew came together for The Endurance’s fateful mission to discover the lost Japanese kingdom of Yamatai. Originally intended to feature as the latest instalment of Dr. James Whitman’s successful archaeology show, Whitman’s World, the show-biz archaeologist gets more than he bargained for when he enlists the help of Captain Conrad Roth. As Roth’s unique and eccentric crew gradually come together and share their stories and secrets, the expedition faces unexpected threats before it’s even begun.

Initially it will be free for those who preorder the new game from Best Buy.

So are you excited the Tomb Raider franchise is coming back to comic books?
