Though we're sure many of you would rather see her play the character in live-action, Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) is set to provide the voice of Lara Croft in Netflix's and Powerhouse's animated Tomb Raider series.
We first heard about the streamer's plans for a new anime show set in the same world as the most recent Square Enix video games back in January. The series is expected to catch up with the iconic adventurer after the events of the final game in the trilogy, and will not have anything to do with the live-action reboot starring Alicia Vikander, which currently has a sequel in the works.
Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin) will write and executive produce Tomb Raider, along with dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj and Howard Bliss.
Atwell played Peggy Carter in the MCU, and recently reprised the role in animated form for Disney+'s What If...? Captain Carter was the focus of the first episode, but is expected to return for more adventure before the end of the season. The British actress' other credits include Blinded By the Light, Christopher Robin, The Duchess and Brideshead Revisited, and she's also set to play a key role in the upcoming Mission: Impossible 7.
