As part of national Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and as a precursor for the popular Wonder Woman Day event on October 25, 2009, a fantastic gallery exhibit has been created. The All Ages event benefits the Domestic Violence charities Bradley-Angle House, Raphael House of Portland, and the Portland Womens Crisis Line.

The First Thursday Reception will feature sixteen of the exhibiting artists appearing at the event, as well as a surprise guest or two (barring super-hero missions elsewhere). Attending artists at the First Thursday Reception are: Paul Gulacy, Anne Timmons, Ibrahim Moustafa, Keith Tucker, Matt Grigsby, Rich Ellis, Dylan Williams, Celina Hernandez, Mike Murphy, Jesse Hamm, Emi Lenox, Aaron McConnell, Ron Chan, Knate Carter, Tram Ngo, and Terry Blas. Also attending is Wonder Woman Day organizer and best-selling author Andy Mangels, as well as representatives of the three charities.

Lara Sydney Framing Gallery will show the AMAZING AMAZON exhibit throughout the month, and visitors to the gallery may pre-bid on art pieces. The art will be auctioned off on October 25th, at Wonder Woman Day in Portland, Oregon (a sister event is held the same day in Flemington, NJ). To date, the three Wonder Woman Day events have raised over $69,000 to help Domestic Violence charities, and have featured over 600 pieces of donated artwork created for the events!
