Chris Pine In Talks To Play 'Steve Trevor' In WONDER WOMAN

More major comic book movie casting news for you today as Variety has revealed that Star Trek and Jack Ryan's Chris Pine is in talks to take on the role of fan-favourite character Steve Trevor (Gal Gadot's love interest) in Wonder Woman! Hit the jump for further details...

Wonder Woman has a love interest! According to Variety, Chris Pine is in talks to join the cast of her movie as Steve Trevor. There were obviously rumours that Scott Eastwood would be playing that character, but the site adds that he was given the choice to test for that role or take on a guaranteed supporting part in Suicide Squad. As an up and coming young actor, it's fair to say he probably made a smart choice there, but there's still no word on who he is playing in the DCCU. 

Patty Jenkis is directing the 2017 movie which was written by Jason Fuchs. In the comics, Trevor was Wonder Woman's love interest in World War II, and when that was retconned, he was her love interest in the present day and also the go between for the Justice League with the United States government. There's no word on which version we'll see here. Pine is obviously best known for the Star Trek franchise, but was also recently seen in Into The Woods, Horrible Bosses 2, and Jack Ryan.

I think he'd be interesting. He's got a cocky swagger that will be interesting to see contrasted against Wonder Woman. He's got to be someone we'd believe she would fall for.

Chris Pine would never be Hal Jordan. I doubt WB would stake another GL flop because Chris Pine doesn't have the best track record as being the only lead in a film box office wise (Jack Ryan was a flop). You could argue the Star Trek reboot but even then he was playing opposite to Spock who had as much screen time, if not more, than Kirk.

Chris Pine is NOT in talks to play Hal Jordan in Wonder Woman. This is Variety; they don't make mistakes. Pretty obvious that Hal is going to be in Arrow next season anyway...

@JoshWilding Not really obvious at all. They just dropped a reference about a pilot who was missing for over a year and everyone started losing their minds claiming that Hal would appear next year.

@Ghostyy: That and Oliver heading to Coast City for season four's flashbacks! I would love to see Hal on the big screen again, but I think they'll be cautious about that after the movie. Plus, after the success of The Flash, a Green Lantern should would fit right in on The CW...
