Fans Set Out To Fix Gal Gadot's WONDER WOMAN Costume

Fans Set Out To Fix Gal Gadot's WONDER WOMAN Costume

Aside from the actual casting of Gal Gadot, many fans were also equally torn about the Wonder Woman costume Diana of Themyscira will sport in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

A lot of comic book fans like Gal Gadot for the role of Wonder Woman.  An almost equal number of comic book fans don't like Gal Gadot for the role.  The split is also right down the middle regarding the costume Gadot will wear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  Some fans wanted pants, others wanted brighter colors, and yes, a few wanted Wonder Woman to wear the traditional (and impractical) bikini costume the Amazon Princess sports in the pages of DC Comics.  To see if comic book fans could actually one-up Batman v Superman costume designer  Michael Wilkinson, io9 issued an open challenge to improve Gadot's Wonder Woman garb.  Here are the results.

I like the recolored photo of the actual costume. I still like the actual costume though, don't see much wrong with it except for the heels on the boots.

The funny thing is that each and every one of those fan designs are way better than the official one.

I love the real one. American colors doesn't make sense for WW yet.

The movie costume looks great, especially when you apply it to the comic books.

Still think the original is best, with the exception of maybe the recoloured one.

Those look terrible. Some of them look like Roman warrior Halloween costumes. She's already wearing an excellent comic-style Wonder Woman suit. Set out to "fix" smh.

The original one is still way better, aside from maybe the re colored one. I'm still curious to see what the costume actually looks like without the filter and if the colors will be much different in the film. Given how easy it is to [frick] up wonder woman's costume live action I think Michael Wilkinson did an awesome job.

If it ain't broke...

Incidentally, I stumbled across this earlier. Thought it was pretty funny. Even Amell is (kinda) positive ;)

Eh, the movie costume is pretty good, actually... Ridiculously desaturated to the point of being all-brown in the photo, but otherwise a good design.

I honestly don't have any question about Zack Snyder's ability to make these characters look cool on the screen... He'll knock that out of the park 9 times out of 10. And even with Ms. Godot having a less-than-commanding physique, he'll shoot her in a way that impresses.

All of these fan designs stray too far from the iconic shape of the WW costume (Strapless top & bare thighs) and fall into more generic greek warrior territory.

Wilkinson's design actually looks like WW (albeit with a bronze filter). The skirt cleverly looks like the shape of the classic trunks.

It would be cool if she got a bunch of different outfits, some more armoured than others, but for the default costume, you gotta go with Wilkinson's.

I still like official one best.

I say why not have both the sword and whip? And we're kind of lucky they went with this outfit instead of the new one, this looks more Amazonian....in a sequel though she could steal a leather jacket but as of right now keep it "original"

I just want her skirt to be longer. She doesn't need to be sexualized.
