Wonder Woman - in addition to several other main DCEU players - has a fairly substantial role in the Flashpoint comic book arc, so it probably won't come as too much of a surprise that the character has now been confirmed to appear in the big-sceeen adaptation.

In their report on Gal Gadot joining the cast of Max Landis-scripted supernatural thriller, Deeper, Deadline mentions that the in-demand actress will also reprise the role of Diana for The Flash's first solo adventure.

Although the Flashpoint film will probably only be loosely based on the source material, it's great to hear that Wonder Woman, at least, will factor in to the plot. Cyborg was rumoured to appear back when Rick Famuyiwa still had the reigns, but we haven't heard anything on that since.

Flashpoint still doesn't have an official release date, but it's expected to hit theatres sometime in 2020.
