Live Action Wonder Woman Movie Plans Are On Again!

IESB.NET announces that there may be hope for the Live Action Wonder Woman Movie after all.

Last March 12, 2009, IESB.NET announced that according to Warner Brothers & Silver Pictures...the Wonder Woman Live Action Movie is "picking up steam" ever since Silver Pictures hired Andrew Roma to be the man in charge of spearheading the project together with Joel Silver.

According to IESB.NET-

"Sources in the Burbank studios have confirmed there is quite a bit of movement on the WW front. With Green Lantern going into production this year, it looks like Princess Diana may finally get the go ahead from WB.

WB and Silver Pictures are in the early stages but they are eager to get started on the movie. Sources tell IESB that WB is looking for new writers on the project and have been taking pitches the last few weeks."

There is speculation within the fan community that the overwhelmingly favorable response to the Wonder Woman Animated Movie as well as the Comicbook run by fan favorite Wonder Writer- Ms. Gail Simone may have played a role in getting the live action movie plans re-started. We certainly hope so as it is so long overdue. And for skeptics who still cling to the notion that it isn't feasible to produce a Wonder Woman movie Live action film because Elektra & Catwoman didn't make it, all I can say is that they flopped because they're simply NOT in the same league as Wonder Woman.

Elektra and Catwoman flopped because they were shit movies. Theres nothing wrong with those characters...WW could flop too! But hopefully they will take more care with this one..it should take a nod from the Animated movie, that was awesome.

Elektra and Catwoman flopped because the casting, scripts and effects were all shit. Catwoman was the biggest steaming pile I have seen in years, it made me very very sad. If we're talking about people who need to stay the heck away from comic movies I nominate Halle Berry. Learn from it and don't f*** this one up.

Hope this one works out, but ComicChic is right that the scripts & effects weren't that great. But I would disagree the Halle & Sharon were good pics, but the script that was just bad. They acted better in other movies they have done.

Elekra was a good movie, I pratically enjoyed it!? Catwomen I've never seen yet, probably wont..

Either Wonderwoman will flop because people aint willing to except a superhero herione? Or just sexism?

For wonderwoman they need to get someone who isn't a cheezy actress... Get someone who can own the character & or make it something seriously strong...

THEHAWK sorry, The giant spider thing comes from "An evening with Kevin Smith." He tells this great story about how Joel Silver has a fixation with having giant spiders in his movies.

Smith at one point was given the chance to write a Superman script, this is a few years before Superman Returns was green lit. Silver wanted to do Supes as an outter space based sci-fi flick and insisted Smith write in a battle with a giant Spider.

Eventually they thankfully passed on the script and the Tim Burton came and went and finally Singer got the rights, but Kevin laughed when he saw Wild, Wild, West a couple of years later, which Silver also produced, and of course Loveless has a giant walking Spider Tank.

they need to cast someone who is a quality actor who isn't a big name so you can see the character not the actor. If they go with a know actor they need to be someone who really immerses into the role, but that is unlikely with the "A-listers" they cram down our throats.

Actually, I thought Halle Berry was a great choice for Catwoman. Just because they trashed the whole concept with script and directing and art.... But, yeah, she definitely was not well cast as Storm.

People are actually wanting Beyonce to be WW???!!!! That would be an instant death sentence for the movie.

And I admit Elektra was entertaining as long as you pretended it had nothing to do with the Marvel character.

Yeah,mwmcintyre they do, unfortunately.

Beyonce wants it because it will be a boost to her career, and she says that she and WW "have so much in cooomn, we're bothstrong and independent and intelligent women." Everyone else who wants her is either a big Beyonce fan,or they feel that superheroes need to be diversified. There aren't enough black superheroes, stuff like that, which is true. But there also isn't enough women superheroes either.

Well i never thought id see the day! The man who is all about the movies following the comics actually liked Elektra and Catwoman!..what no complaints about the suits and the story and what not? Those 2 pieces of crap took far more liberties with the source material than the Wolverine movie your always slagging off did!!

Wonderwoman needs a top notch headliner to play her who is hot and can act, 10 years ago i might have nominated Julia Roberts but now I dunno. Ashley Judd maybe 5 years ago could do it, don't wanna say it but Angelina Jolie could do it if she was willing to gain 10 lbs of muscle which she aint cause she gotta starve herself like her kids are used to. O.K. maybe that was a low blow but yall know that woman would be hella fine, i mean hella finer, with a little more meat on her bones.

i agree that Catwoman and elektra could of been good movies if they had the right actress and director. I just hope they keep true to wonder women and that this is a step in the right direction for other female Hero movies.

WW would be an amazing movie, with the right actress and the right script. But Beyonce, sweetheart, get real!!! You're not right for the part whatsoever, not based on your skin color. Your acting is not up to par enough to play Diana. And as far as a black WW, forget diversification!!! That's like making Storm or Black Panther white!!! Please, I would throw a hissy ift if I saw Charlize Theron playing Ororo Munroe, or Russell Crowe as Black Panther. Maybe you could play Artemis, NOT!!! Get real, hoe!!! I vote Angelina as WW. She did as many stunts as she could for almost all her movies, she's hot, she's a good will ambassador for the UN (just as Diana is an ambassador to the man's world) and she's an ass kicker all around. If you really think about it, there's nobody else who has the credentials Angie does. Oh did I mention, she's got an Oscar?? Think about it.

@ Galvatron. I don't like Angelina because she is one of those actresses that made it big because of her looks, she is not that good of an actress. Her movies are good, she has the star power to draw crouds, but she is not Wonder Woman. I honestly don't think she would be able to portray her affectively. She doesn't seem right for the role. TOmb Raider was good, and Alexander was good, but thats the only two I liked her in, I liked Wanted, but not for her performance. She does not have the look, she won't gain weight or bulk up for the movie, in fact she is using some new diet drug, thats making her lose a crap load of weight. Plus she is rumored to be the next Bond Girl,so she will be committed to that most likely.

My vote goes to Catherine Bell as WW, she straight up IS wonder woman as far as looks go, can act fairly well, and is a relative unknown, because who really watched JAG? Plus I dont want to see it go to some young chick.

i'd go with jessica biel. she's already got the physique,(see stealth), the looks and can act. everyone's right about having the right script, director etc. iron man was just a b-level hero(b+ maybe) and look how that turned out. you could tell with elektra and catwoman that all the studios cared about was making their money back and a slight profit off of domestic, foriegn, and dvd sales combined. WW def deserves better treatment. beyonce's ass is too FAT to be WW. there i said it! someone mentioned a white ororo and the black panther as being nuts. agreed, same as a white luke cage. no will smith as CAP and GL should be hal not jon stewart ( jon as a supporting character would be ok). sorry didn't mean to get to much into race, but comic book movies are not supposed to be P.C.

Yep, TucsonRican, you are right this just seems like mindless speculation although fun mindless speculation.

I have to say no to Angelina (it would be a heart wrenching story about a superheroine who travels to an african nation to fight an evil tiranic dictator and manages to adopt an orphanage full of brats), and Julia Roberts?? I mean WW has to embody physical perfection, and Julia Roberts is far from perfect, neither is Beyonce (stick to your music), now I seriously don't know who should play her, but most of the DCU movies have been casting actors that are younger than 30 for their superheroes, so that cuts Angelina right away, specially if the JLA rumors are true (even if it's not shown, WW and Superman have to have romantic tension).

Yes! Do it! I'd definitely go see it. I just hope it doesn't have the same gaping unanswered holes as the recent animated release. Otherwise, the Amazon has a swath of potential to be so awesome.

Hello BLACK GUY here Im sure its not too hard to figure out with the photo and all LOL. Believe me I love seeing Beyonce especially in revealing garments,but not at the expense of the WONDER WOMAN MOVIE\FRANCHISE.Hancock with Will Smith was pretty good I thought. If Beyonce and her people need\wants her to be a superheroine.....make one up and let her star in it.Just dont touch the heroes that we're all expecting to be true to its comicbook counter part. No black Captain American,Superman,Wonder Woman,nor anyother heroe thats not black.Captain Marvel of the Avengers she's black,the chick with the animal type powers on JLA UNLIMITED ON BOOMERRANG SHE'S BLACK,and there's a few more Beyonce just not the heroe type.I'd like to see the Black Panther or Luke Cage on the big screen just dont try to have me buy Matt Damon as T'Challa....nuff said.
