During the recent DCU slate announcement, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn revealed that a Paradise Lost TV series ("like Game of Thrones but with Amazons") is in the works, but he still hadn't mentioned anything about Wonder Woman herself - until now!
Late last night, Gunn responded to a Tweet wondering when Diana's "untapped potential and stories" will be further explored with the hashtag #WonderWomanAnimatedSeries. The Suicide Squad director said that he was "working on it," before clarifying what he meant in a follow-up Tweet.
"We’re working on getting Wonder Woman into more animation. I agree that there hasn’t been enough of her in that area and was one of the first things I brought up to the animation folks."
We obviously don't have much to go on here, but we do know that all DCU live-action and animated projects will be connected. Gunn has also confirmed that "less than half" of the first chapter, Gods and Monsters, has been unveiled, so we could find out more about this Wonder Woman show fairly soon.
We still don't know if Gal Gadot will reprise the role in the DCU, but her take on the iconic hero will appear in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. If she does stay on as Diana, there's a chance she will also voice the character in animated form.
