BOX OFFICE: X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Now Expected To Reach Upwards Of $120M
Analysts initially predicted that Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past MIGHT reach $100 million over the four day Memorial Day weekend, but great word of mouth and almost unanimously positive reviews have resulted in the "inbetweenquel" possibly earning as much as $120 million!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, X-Men: Days of Future Past could reach as much as $120 million over the Memorial Day weekend, with its only real competition the Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore led Blended which will earn less than $20 million. Though it cost only $45 million to produce, that still makes the comedy something of a flop for the studio who were expecting an awful lot more! There's curently no word on how well Godzilla will do during its second weekend at the North American box office, but the news that director Gareth Edwards will be helming a Star Wars spin-off will surely increase interest in the monster movie. We'll have updated numbers for you tomorrow, but if you haven't checked out either X-Men: Days of Future Past or Godzilla yet, be sure to do so over the next couple of days! What are you planning on seeing?
