British actress 'Alice Eve', whose name has been connected to a potential Marvel film for some time now, reportedly(via Deadline) is in negotiations to appear in Matthew Vaugn's prequal, 'X-Men: First Class, as the White Queen, Emma Frost.

Rosamund Pike, who was once rumored for the role, apparently screen-tested for 'Emma Frost', but was beat by Eve. Alice Eve was also connected to star as female lead in Marvel Studios' Captain America: The First Avenger, but eventually went to Hayley Atwell.

The 28 year old actress joins Michael Fassbender as Magneto and James McAvoy as Professor X in the story that focuses on Marvel's superpowered team X-Men in a younger incarnation than the previous trilogy.

Originally a villain as "White Queen" in the comics, Emma Frost was a member of the 'X-Men' as a mutant of enormous telepathic ability, and is also capable of transforming into an organic diamond state with enhanced strength and durability which suppresses her telepathy.

Well, looks like Avengers News weren't so full of shit after all! Although they had her down as being in negotiations for The Avengers. Anyway, she's pretty good in what I have seen her in, and smokin hot(although you must have been able to find a better pic MF!) so I'm all for this.

X-Men: First Class - if memory serves (and it DOES because I HAVE X-Men #1!), the 'First Class' consisted of Cyclops, Marvel Girl (Jean Grey), Angel, Beast and Iceman. NOWHERE does it mention ANYTHING about Emma Frost! In fact, she didn't appear in X-lore until 17 years later, in 'Uncanny X-Men #129 (which I also have). WTF people?! Is someone re-writing X-history based on a cartoon, AGAIN?!!!! Are they sacrificing storyline for gratuitous T & A ???!!!!

She's a good fit. But it's just more indication that this isn't a reboot but more along the lines of a continuation of XO:W.

What!?! So, we'll have an adult Emma Frost and a teenage Cyclops when they're actually the same age in the comic books? [frick] that. She's a great choice for the role but this is yet another continuity screw up by Fox which now has me even less interested in First Class! :(

And I guess we're supposed to just forget that we were introduced to a much younger version in X-Men Origins: Wolverine then? I think Fox want comic book fans to hate them. Still, I guess I dont mind if this is a reboot. But I still [frick]ing hate Fox!!! At least they got a British actress which is a bonus.

Ror - Emma was 'saved' along with Cyclops by Professor X at the end of 'Origins: Wolverine', remember? If that isn't a setup for 'First Class', then I don't know what is!

So if it's just a continuation (or a 'prequel') of the Fox storyline, expect to see castings for Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm and Beast. Let the EPIC FAIL begin...

Yeah but that doesn't mean anything for CERTAIN. The movie could flash forward a few year so that Frost is already a villain, we may not see her be part of the actual team. And we already have Beast! I won't care either way, I'm fine with the X movie verse as it is, I just hope they do a few things differently for you guys that aren't.

ummmm why is white queen in this movie? she was defintely not an early Xmen villian. they need Mag and maybe some one else...perhaps Mr Sinister. Anyone else think this franchise is gonna suck beyond all rescue?

HAHA people actually think that Fox is going to put any effort into not ruining this movie... its to late! Fox was out to ruin these movies from day 1 and have succeded.... don't get me wrong im all about keeping an open mind and wait to see things on film.... but not when it comes to Fox they've gotten 4 xmen movies completly wrong I don't think they are interested in making the 5th one any better.

From what I can tell the film will focus mainly on the days before the actual x-men are formed and have a young Charles Xavier still learning to deal with his powers and Eric Lenser being his trusty right hand man.

Plus we won't see Cyclops or the rest till near the end - it's basically a set up movie for the next part (i.e. the film we really want to see) it has potential, though that could go ether way until we see more.

And is it REALLY that important Emma Frost be hot? I'd rather we get pll who can act than look good, apparently all you guys want another Wolverine!!!

I thought they were going back in time to start the franchise anew and put the proper lineup and timelines together ??!?!

I think Fox is under the impression that Wolverine IS the X-franchise (the way they crafted the 3 X films around him). Apparently they don't realize that the X-Men were a TEAM before him!

Or they just don't care because Wolverine is the most popular character and they knew he would sell the movies...and he did. Obviously Fassbender and McCavoy will be playing younger versions of Xavier and Magneto in flash back.

Ror- Personally, i've always been okay with the X-movieverse's continuity. What pisses me off is that they're following their mistakes instead of starting from scratch and erasing all their mistakes. Now they just almost confirmed that they don't give a shit about what they did and will surely do even more with this one. If only they did X-4. I just don't see the point in making this type of first class, bringing Mags in it AGAIN when they could move on to Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister.

It's really not comforting. It could still be entertaining but for the moment, i'm not convinced until i see a trailer.

'Flashback'? How can 2 main characters be played only in flashback? Sir Patrick Stewart has expressed on MANY occassions NO interest in returning to the franchise, so who (aside from McCavoy) is going to play the good Professor? We have a military term for what this movie is starting to sound like - a 'cluster-@$*!'!

im not sure about the casting so far, not my ideal choices so far but it all depends on the final film film and the directing. i hope that the film is sick and it links will with the first x-men film.
