Another New X-Men: First Class Trailer Released!

Another New X-Men: First Class Trailer Released!

Another trailer for the movie has been released, and while it's made up of some footage we've already seen, there are plenty of brand new action packed and explosive scenes along with an earlier release date...

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

And here is the UK version released by Sky Movies, which features a slightly different cut of the above trailer.

According to these trailers, X-Men: First Class will now be released in the UK on June 1st and in the US on June 2nd.

Despite the poor posters, I'm very much looking forward to this.

X-Men:Photoshop Class still isn't impressing me.
Fox, I recommend that you ditch Singer. The man takes half decent ideas and scripts and turns them into complete shit.

This does look pretty good.
And to you X-haters...cut the crap. You've seen nothing of this movie otter than 5 minutes f footage and a few posters (which were mediocre until the last couple). Don't act like the movies gonna fail because it could be the best Xmen movie to date for all we know.

This actually looks really good now.

I know it's not canon but none of the X-Men films so far have been, so why the hating?

One thing I think might happen after this is released and makes its money back in a fortnight, is that the next Wolverine picture will have to work twice as hard as it would have had First Class not been released.

The public might just consider that Wolverine, after the last, frankly disastrous outing, has had his time in the sun and it's now time to move on.

Lets not be stupid & hate on this just cos we don't like the studio who funded it,
this looks, so far, like the best X-Movie of all.

I'll make no bones about it, I think it looks superb & I can't wait.

People complain about the posters but there were few good posters for The Incredible Hulk and I don't recall many Iron Man posters (I could be wrong there) and they are both amazing. I still think I'm going to like this film, mainly because I'm not completely wrapped up in CBMs being identical to the comics.

@Growler I doubt it would have a major impact on any future Wolverine movies, a general audience wouldn't have a clue how faithful an adaptation is, I mean I know people who think X-Men Origins (which was good until they introduced Weapon XI IMO) was a brilliant movie.

Wow - the effects are really coming together now. If only they would stop bringing out those attrocious posters.

The quality of the film isn't being fairly represented by them.

I have always had great anticipation for this film. The setting, the characters involved - it looks like a genuine attempt to freshen up the franchise.

The fact that it sticks to the cinematic universe that has already been created doesn't bother me in the slightest.

i seriously doubt that this is the "official" 2nd trailer.it only had 5 or 6 new scenes and it was even shorter then the teaser trailer.im pretty sure this is just uk version of the teaser trailer.
it looked amazing by the way!!!!!!!!!!!

@BaneKill77 The only movie that Singer has ever been involved with, that has been really good, was The Usual Suspects, but Singer's directing really wasn't anything special. The best part about that movie was the writing and the performances, not Singer being over repetitive with the shot/reverse shot dialogue scenes.

Also, Valkyrie (while not exactly a thrilling subject matter) had far more potential. Instead, it was ruined by Singer's detached directing.

I have my reasons for hating Singer, and although they may not be to your liking, it does not make me immature in any way.

Furthermore, I don't want things "done my way", simply because I didn't really want to see any more X-Men related movies, coming from this particular studio at least.

Fox, seriously, stop using the over dramatic opera style music. Go back and use something similar to the music from the first trailer, it won't look like you're trying to hard.

It looked like they stomped their feet and it caused an explosion

Illuminatus@ Wow - surprised that you didn't rate the direction of The Usual Suspects.

Directing is more than about framing shots - it's about telling a story. And that story was one hell of a beast to tell without ruining the suspense or losing it's sense of pace. It was quite a script to film!

I thought Singer did one hell of a job with it - although Apt Pupil is my all time favourite film from him. Those two films alone buy him a load of goodwill in my book.

But lets not forget - Singer is a producer here - not the director.

LOL at those too stubborn to admit this looks good, especially those who have openly admitted that they are going to watch this yet claim to be outraged by it.

I've always been open minded about this film.
Illuminatus
Illuminatus - 4/20/2011, 5:02 AM
@Orphix He did a moderate job with several scenes, mainly the opening scene, I thought that was very well done. The dialogue between all the guys in the jail cell was filmed with some ingenuity as well. But then, he keeps going back to this old school style of filming and pacing, which is not necessarily wrong, but it does tire one out, especially when the story is building suspense. As for Apt Pupil, I have to admit I have never seen it. I heard "meh" and "so-so" about it, but I guess it would be wise for me to add it to my Netflix que.

Ahh yes, I did not forget. But, you have to remember that producers can have much more stock in the filmmaking process (especially long running franchises) than the director can. Jerry Bruckheimer has always had more control over the Pirates of the Caribbean movies than Gore Verbinski ever did, and he will certainly have more control than Rob Marshall does. Seeing as Fox is convinced that Singer is the answer to fixing their seemingly broken franchise, they will most likely hand a better portion of the reins over to him.

Also, editing is crafting a story out of what the director filmed. Directors for movies will almost always sit in on the editing process, if not doing it by themselves or assisting.

Why are people giving this movie a chance? 2 wrongs don't make a right, already looks bad. Emma Frost's timeline doesn't match up, Beast is a blue werewolf, no.... Just no

Good to see this trailer has changed a few minds. It's [frick]ing fantastic in all honesty! I'm still not happy about the changes they've made to the characters and source material, but for what it is, I think it will be great.
