Earlier today, rumors have been swirling that all of Marvel's X-Men titles will be canceled in an attempt to hurt Fox's film apaptions. Brian Michael Bendis is the current writer of two such titles, All New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, and he responded to the rumors on his Tumblr page.

"Somebody somewhere for whatever reason, be it a lack of attention at home, frustration with their own life, whatever it is that motivates such things, completely pulls something right out of their a** and posted it on the Internet. And sometimes, no matter how outlandish the claim, no matter how many people point to the lack of logic, no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary… some people choose to believe it." Bendis wrote.

He went on to say, "
I was told when I started writing the X-Men that there is a very small part of the readership that feels very persecuted. That no matter what Marvel does these readers think that Marvel hates the X-Men with a fiery passion and are looking to destroy it."

Bendis finished by saying, "something exciting is coming next summer. Definitely. For sure. For the Marvel Universe and the X-Men which happen to be one and the same thing and have been for 50 years."

I thought the reboot and erase X-Men rumour was very interesting, but I am so glad it isn't true.

Doom

Just like with the FF comics but no one talked about them because they were even more stupid than the FF rumors

Whatever nobody reads comic books anymore.

It's sad that Marvel comics suck these days.

People still read comics, but more digitally now more than paperback. I get mine on my iPad, unless I really like one and I go find it in store for future nostalgia reasons. Also, I agree, I'm favoring DC New 52 right now over anything that Marvel has put out recently.

If they ever drop all X-Men books, I'm giving up on Marvel. I've always (and hopefully always will) read X-Men

Who ever would believe that is a DUMBASS. Comics don't run the films and the films don't run the comics. Plain and simple.

"Comics don't run the films and the films don't run the comics."

So why is Coulson in the Marvel Universe? Why did Marvel revert the Avengers line-up to the movie team in 2012? Why did Zod and Faora get a Man Of Steel-style redesign? Why is John Diggle in the New 52? The films most certainly do influence the comics, and obviously the comics influence the films. I can go on and on.

I do agree, @MrFridayNights. David Aja's Hawkeye, Jason Aaron's Thor, Phil Noto's Black Widow and the already cancelled Gambit solo series are/were the only good things about Marvel Comics now.

Seriously, anyone who thought Marvel was dropping X-Men books -that person deserves to be called an idiot! Marvel would NEVER drop that property for any reason. The comics are way different than the movie franchises. FOX does not own X-Men comics -Marvel does. Any dumbass can post a rumor on the internet and make it sound real -no matter how stupid it sounds to rational people. People are so gullible nowadays.

Whats with all the cancellation rumors. First FF now X-men. Marvel would never cancel X-men. Escpecially not to hurt Fox. X-Men has one of Marvels top characters in Wolverine.

I think this Jollem guy right here is a non-marvel studios fan.

X-MEN IS MARVEL, NOT FOX. Maybe in the films but not by heart. Deal with it!

Yeah, so stop talking about gods as if they are real.... Oh, wait, he was talking about the pulled comics rumor. Oops.

Maybe they are going to get Rob Liefield to write and illustrate all the X-books so everyone is so disgusted by the terrible art that they dump the books.

..or maybe they should put the price up to $23.50 a copy - brilliant!

...or maybe they will just let Singer et al just [frick] it up themselves.
