DARK PHOENIX: Theater Merchandise Provides A Closer Look At Those NEW X-MEN Inspired Costumes
We know that the X-Men will don some comic accurate costumes in Dark Phoenix next year but some new merchandise provides a much better look at the suits inspired by Grant Morrison's New X-Men run...
X-Men: Apocalypse ended with the team decked out in shockingly comic book accurate costumes but those have been swapped out in Dark Phoenix for versions clearly inspired by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's New X-Men run in the early 2000s. That's not actually a bad thing by any means and while we anxiously wait for the first trailer, some theater merchandise offers a closer look at them.
The video below kicks off with what appears to be a fan-made poster for the sequel (there are telltale signs like Psylocke's inclusion even though Olivia Munn won't appear in Dark Phoenix) and then shows what appears to be cup toppers featuring the likenesses of Beast, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and the X-Jet.
There's nothing major revealed here but it is nice to get a sneak peek of sorts, especially as it's thought Fox won't be bringing the movie to Comic-Con. Dark Phoenix was originally set to be released this November but extensive reshoots have resulted in it being pushed back to next February. What do you think of these new costumes?
