Star Wars Producer Gary Kurtz Passes Away
We begin with some sad news, as Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back producer Gary Kurtz has died at the age of 78.
According to the official statement (see below), Kurtz passed away yesterday evening after a year-long battle with cancer.
Our deepest condolences to Gary's friends and family.
Suicide Squad Director Says The Joker's Damaged Tattoo Was "One Step Too Far"
There were a lot of elements in Suicide Squad that came in for backlash, but arguably the most derided aspect of the film was Jared Leto's "Juggalo" Joker.
Now, director David Ayer has admitted that The Joker's tattoos - or at least, one of 'em - might have taken the character's "edgy" look a little too far.
Could The X-Men: Dark Phoenix Trailer Hit This Week?
X-Men fans are still anxiously awaiting a first look at some footage from Dark Phoenix, and we may finally have some news on when the first trailer is expected to drop.
According to Chinese website Weibo - who has shared some exclusive images/details in the past - we'll be getting some "big news" relating to the movie in three days time. While this may not necessarily be the teaser, we do know that it recently screened at a 20th Century Fox presentation in Germany, so it's a definite possibility.
Patrick Stewart Teases His New Star Trek Show With A BTS Photo
It looks like pre-production is now underway on CBS All-Access' mysterious new Star Trek project, which will see Patrick Stewart reprise his iconic role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard from The Next Generation.
The veteran actor shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself along with the series' writers and producers, which include Akiva Goldsman and celebrated author Michael Chabon.

Here we have an amusing short that was released for Batman Day last week.

Is Scott Derrickson Teasing Doctor Strange 2?
Though Doctor Strange 2 will almost certainly happen at some point, Marvel Studios still hasn't given it the offcial greenlight. However, there's some speculation that the first film's director may be teasing an imminent announcement with his latest Tweet.
This isn't the first time Scott Derrickson has shared comic book panels featuring The Sorcerer Supreme, but the fact that this particular issue is part of the "If Eternity Should Fail" arc could be telling, as an adaptation of that story would serve as a natural follow-up to the events of the first movie.
New Charmed Trailer
The CW has debuted a new trailer for the upcoming reboot of Charmed, which stars Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock and Sarah Jeffrey as sisters who discover they are witches.
This "Sisterhood" teaser actually includes an intriguing callback to the original show, as the trio come across a photo of Melinda Warren while flicking through The Book of Shadows.
Perhaps this won't be a full reboot after all?
Former DC Boss Diane Nelson Deletes Twitter After Toxic Fan-Backlash
Toxic fandom has driven yet another figure in the public eye off social media, as former DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson has deleted her Twitter account.
Nelson Tweeted our praise for Todd Philips' upcoming Joker movie, but her phrasing led many Zack Snyder fans to assume she was taking a shot at the divisive director's tenure with WB.

Despite Nelson following this up with an assurance that she was not dissing Snyder, the response was evidently vicious enough for her to delete her account.
Runaways Season 2 Wraps Production
The second season of Marvel and Hulu's Runways has officially wrapped production.
Virginia Gardner, who plays Karolina Dean on the show, shared the following photo of her castmates celebrating at the wrap party.
Fans should get their first look at some footage from Runaways season 2 at New York Comic-Con in a couple of weeks time.
Ant-Man And The Wasp Extended Clip Released
Finally, we have an extended sneak peak from Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp, which is set to hit DVD and Blu-ray on October 16.
In this funny scene, Scott and Hope must infiltrate Cassie's school in an attempt to retrieve Hank's original Ant-Man suit.
