Disney CEO Bob Iger Reiterates That X-MEN, FANTASTIC FOUR, And DEADPOOL Franchises Are Part Of Marvel Studios

Before you start panicking about another X-Men movie from Simon Kiberg, Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that all of Fox's Marvel franchises are under the watchful eye of Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige.

We know that the X-Men and Fantastic Four are coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that during Comic-Con), but there's been some confusion about what will happen to the R-Rated Deadpool franchise. Some have claimed that the Merc with the Mouth could remain under the Fox banner, but we now know that's not the case.

According to Disney CEO Bob Iger in a shareholder conference call yesterday evening, all of the Marvel heroes once owned by Fox now come under the purview of Marvel Studios.

Again, this is hardly a surprise, but it's nice to have confirmation that all of these heroes are now in the hands of the far more capable studio. This presumably means that The New Mutants is a project Feige has been consulted on, and with that set to arrive in theaters next April, it's feasible that he'll be the one who chooses who ends up at the helm of those reshoots.

We'll have to wait and see on that front, but both the X-Men and Fantastic Four are expected to be part of Phase 5, and there's no way that Deadpool will be left on the shelf for long.
