EXCLUSIVE: X-MEN 3 Storyboards Reveal Deleted Danger Room Scene With Sentinels

Conceptual illustrator and storyboard artist, Tim Burgard, has sent me storyboards that he created for X-Men: The Last Stand that feature a deleted Danger Room scene involving Bobby (Iceman), Kitty Pryde, and multiple Sentinels. Hit the jump to check them out.

Tim Burgard began his artistic career in the comic book industry as a penciler, inker, and even a writer. Down the road he would lend his substantial talents to the entertainment industry, creating storyboards for popular films and television programs. Recently Tim has worked on films, such as Rupert Wyatt's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Kenneth Branagh's Thor and Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk, just to name a few. Below, you'll find a small sample of the storyboards he created for Brett Ratner's X-Men: The Last Stand. These particular storyboards feature a deleted Danger Room scene involving Shawn Ashmore's Bobby Drake/Iceman, and Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde. There are also two conclusions to this scene. In the first version the scene basically ends after the pair go through a wall together, while the second version is much more grim. Check it out!

X-Men: The Last Stand was directed by Brett Ratner, from a screenplay written by Simon Kinberg and Zak Penn. The cast included: Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine, Halle Berry as Ororo Munroe / Storm, Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, Anna Paquin as Marie / Rogue, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast, James Marsden as Scott Summers / Cyclops, Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake / Iceman, and Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde. The film earned $459 million at the world wide box office, against a budget of $210 million.

Too bad the rest of the movie couldn't have been more like the first two and a half minutes.

I remember the commercials and being so excited about the presence of the Sentinels . This brings back so many disappointing memories.

Great movie. A little rushed but still the most entertaining X-Men movie. Ratner did a fine job with the action scenes.

The Fastball Special, Wolverine lighting the cigar and the "Juggernaut, BITCH!" was the best parts of that movie.

I enjoyed the movie more than the 1st two, but I'm not an X-Men aficionado, either. Other than the movies, my limited experience was with Evolution cartoon and Age of Apocalypse game.

After watching it again, aside from the usual problems X3 had, something I that realllly bugged me was the wire work during the fight scenes.

Famke Janssen.

Wait, you mean the suspended car headlights don't count as sentinels?

Knowing Bryan Singer, the Sentinels will probably be some guys dressed in purple tinfoil.

juggernaunt
killing/get rid of cyclops so early on

the mistreatment of major x-men characters

I agree. It took liberties with some of the characters but as a film to sit down and watch I can do that. But I just cant watch X1 and X2 again.

There's something about Singer's direction that makes me not give a damn about what happens to the characters.

the biggest crime you don't put colossus & juggernaunt in the same movie & not have them collide.

the avengers got it right with thor & the hulk, even if the fight was a bit short they still battled.

@continuezero she's definitely no shailene woodley if you know what I mean. @CharacterAssassin logan doesn't need his suit, as it's not integral to the character

X3 was the worst of a bad bunch in my opinion, Ive never enjoyed Singers cbms he some how made the Xmen a very dull and uninteresting affair, however I saw this film again the other day and I have to be honest I thought Prof x's death was probably the best scene out of X1 X2 X3 and X origins

Im devastated that Singer is back at the helm for X DOFP. The guy turns gold to beige every time, how you turn a group of super powered super freaks into a bunch of bores is beyond me

I think Bryan and co. must have done the casting process by randomly drawing names out of a hat.... eg. Anna Paquin
