Twentieth Century Fox has announced, through its updated 2014 release schedule, new dates for the studios' major tent-poles. One of the notable changes reveal that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has swapped summer release dates with X-Men: Days of Future Past. While the Apes sequel is now set for release on July 18, 2014, the X-Men "In-between-quel" will unleash on May 23, 2014, which is just three weeks after Sony premieres The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on May 2, 2014. In the meantime, X-Men: Days of Future Past is currently filming in Montral, Canada, and the Bryan Singer-directed mutant ensemble stars Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Adan Canto, Fan Bingbing, Anna Paquin, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Ellen Page and Booboo Stewart.

By opening two months early, Fox hopes to stifle Singer from casting more useless, and bad, cameos.

You are an idiot if you think this movie is going be any good. All x-men movies have been a piece of shit. The only reason they are doing this movies. Is because of the success of the Avengers

@jamesbrando3

2/7 - Robocop
3/7 - 300
4/4 - Cap 2
4/18 - Transcendence
5/2 - ASM2
5/16 - Godzilla
5/23 - XMDOFP
6/6 - Ninja Turtles
6/13 - 22 Jump Street
6/27 - Transformers 4
7/11 - Fast and Furious 7
7/18 - Planet of the Apes
8/1 - Guardians of the Galaxy
8/15 - Expendables 3
8/22 - Sin City
9/12 - Resident Evil 6
11/7 - Big Hero 6
11/7 - INTERSTELLAR
11/21 - Hunger Games 3
12/17 - The Hobbit 3

I think that's all the currently highly anticipated films. I personally am not anticipating every single one (see: Transformers 4, TMNT, Resident Evil 6, FF7)

2014 & 2015. How will anything be able to top them? 2016 better start attempting to try now lol
frova
frova - 6/20/2013, 5:10 PM
@brando

no problem. Well 2016, we're looking at ASM3 (june) and at least one Marvel Release (may, hopefully another in the winter/fall) which will probably be Dr. Strange. I think 2016 will be pretty calm, summer 2015 is going to be huge and everyone will probably be burnt out from it

@frova

You forgot about WB's Jupiter Assending from the Wachkowskis on July 25.

Only May 31st,June 20 and are open for a big tent pole film next summer.

I bet WB puts Mad Max Fury Road with Tom Hardy out on June 20th.

Btw I think releasing DOFP on Memorial Day weekend is a great move because its one of the biggest weekends for movies in North America.

Anybody who thinks Captain America which Marvel won't even give a summer release date to,is somehow going to be bigger the DOFP or Amazing Spider-Man 2 needs to be screened for drug use.

Sorry,but Marvel Studios will be fighting itself for 3rd and 4th place that year behind what Sony and FOX are putting out.

gambgel - 6/20/2013, 5:23 PM
maybe thats part of the reason they have moved it up, because the effects companies are a bit more advanced than expected right now.

sentinels may take time, but if they have done this, Im sure this type of work is going pretty fine

WarnerBrother
WarnerBrother - 6/20/2013, 5:28 PM
@frova

I think summer 2016 will be when Justice League comes out.

Inspite of some rumors,I don't see WB getting MOS 2 out in late 2014 and JLA in summer 2015. Instead,MOS 2(With Batman ) will come out summer 2015 both to go along with Snyder's wish to develop Superman's story some more,but also to roll out the new Batman and avoid comparisons to The Avengers. I can see Snyder directing MOS2 and JLA as two films shot back to back.

@JGAR

WB should move Godzilla to June 20th and give its spot to Mad Max Fury Road.
Thats a good change up.
