Silver Samurai looks exactly like his comic counter part
There are ninjas
Everyone but Wolverine is Japanese
Christopher Mcquarrie wrote this and it was approved by Darren Arronofsky
James Mangold is a fan and directed 3:10 to Yuma
Based on one of the best stories and following it closely it seems

Why would anyone not be excited by this? Just because of petty things like no suit?

Hugh looks more like wolverine the older he gets. Height be damned. Looking forward to this. Wish Fox would take a chance and make the film a 15 though.

With Hugh Jackman getting older, does anyone think it might be a cool idea to make him Cable and use the Ultimate Marvel origin for the character (i.e., a future version of Wolverine w/ a much weaker healing factor and a cybernetic arm and eye)?

That way they could recast everyone coming out of Days of Future Past including Wolverine. Find a new, younger guy who bears a passing resemblance to Hugh, but perhaps a little more compact in build. Doesn't matter that Hugh is taller because he's from an alternate timeline (after the prevent the DoFP future). They would also bring back Cyclops and Jean in this new timeline obviously, but Ultimate Cable's origin is still waaay simpler than regular Cable's.

I know the purists will hate it, but it could be a smart way to both recast Wolverine and still keep Hugh Jackman involved in the franchise at the same time as he gets older. And it technically is based off of the comics, just the Ultimate X-men comics. Just a random thought I had this morning...

never new Ult Cable was Wolverine. not very fond of the idea myself but i do wanna see Cable on screen pretty soon. one of my favorite characters.

as for Wolverine getting older. its fine imo, Wolverine is old as shit. and he was never intended to look young either. he's supposed to look rough around the edges. so as long as Hugh stays in shape, i'd have no problem with him playing Logan for the next decade or 2.

how old is Sylvester Stalone now? late 50s? if Hugh's in his shape at that age i'd feel no need to recast him as long as he's still dedicated like he is now.

This flick has got a lot of potential, both good and bad. I would call this a sure thing had Aaronofsky stayed on board. James Mangold has done some really good flicks but he's also got a few sh!t movies under s belt as well. Knight and Day anyone? I could let that slide if he hadn't brought Mark "Total Recall and Die Hard 4" Bomback on to rewrite the brilliant Chris McQuarrie's script. You can't totally blame Len Wiseman for those craptacular movies, the scripts were terrible. And no trailer yet? Of all the comic book movies this year, this one has the biggest question marks. Right now Iron Man, Thor, and MOS are much higher than this on the list. And no, I don't count Sin City because I have zero interest in revisiting that sh!t again. It was cool for 5 minutes ten years ago. I'm over it.
