RESULTS: Which Classic Character Would You Like To See Join X-MEN: DOFP Next?

Almost 4,000 votes spread over 15 options, but in the end it wasn't even close - we had a clear winner with over 40% of the votes. Who do the CMBers want to see join old-school Xavier, Magneto and Wolverine in Bryan Singer's X-flick? Hit the jump to find out..

Did the thumbnail fool ya? No, of course it wasn't Halle Berry's Storm, but James Marsden's Cyclops that fans most want to see make an appearance in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Quite a lot of people feel that the character was short changed in Bryan Singer's previous X-Men movies, and even more so in Brett Ratner's threequel, so this could be a chance to put things right and give fans the Mutant leader from the comics they've been waiting to see brought to life on the big screen. Cyc was way out in front with 1,580 Votes (41.32%), and quite a bit behind in second place was Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler with 577 Votes (15.09%. In third place was Daniel Cudmore's Colossus with 339 Votes (8.87%). Aaron Stanford as Pyro came in last with a paltry 16 Votes (0.42%) - although I though he did a pretty good job. I would agree with Cyclops if they ever got the character right and actually used him for more than a few minutes every movie

well they didn't say that Scott died in the third movie, we didn't see it happen. Unless they decide to have this movie change and alter the events of this continuity of a mess of films into something more consistent. Like it changes out where X-3 is completely removed, Scott is alive and they delve deeper into many more things like the comics

for me i agree with nightcrawler re appearing, but the only character in the xmen movies for me that has stepped straight out of joss whedons amazing astonishing xmen run is ellen page as kitty pryde, she looks now as if she hasnt aged a day i would love to see her come back

Bryan Singer created X-Men and X2 before this recent time of fantastic revolutionary comic book films.

People act like Singer won't change at all. He already confirmed no leather suits, so stop judging him for what he did BEFORE movies like Iron Man or Avengers.

Cyclops AND Nightcrawler need to come back. Especially Nightcrawler

I think Nightcrawler is needed. Imagine, he goes back in time and sees Mystique and Azazel. And he realizes he's their son. It's kinda necessary for the plot, I think. It'd be pretty interesting, too. Maybe Mystique is the only one who knows she's pregnant, and she uses her shape-changing abilities to hid it? She probably wouldn't want anyone to know she got with Azazel, especially if she's got the hots for Magneto.

i would LOVE a giant size x-men sort of deal going on (colossus, storm, nightcrawler, "old" banshee, wolverine, and cyclops) in later movies with thunderbird and sunfire being added in later. that would be awesome!

Marsden as Cyclops, Cudmore as acolossus and Foster as Angel!!! All three were well cast and need there time to shine! Screw Banshee and Havok, lets form the original xmen with Colossus and Logan thrown into the mix! As for the brotherhood, I'd like to see Azazel and Mystiques relationship (perfect opportunity to throw Nightcrawler in the future timeline)

I'd like to see (maybe not this film but eventually, hopefully the sequel to this one?) where the xmen are fully formed and maybe the events in days of future past alter the future of the films so there we go no more co tinuitu issues! Haha but come on,we need the xmen to be fully formed! We ALMOST got the team at the end of the third film, but we need professor X, Cyclops, Wolverine, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Kitty, Iceman, nightcrawler, beast and angel! Hell throw in gambit to! As for the brotherhood, Magneto, Mystique, Durand as Blob (admit it he was awesome), Pyro, Avalanche, and maybe even Juggernaut?

@SNAILFILES BEAST WAS IN X2 AS DR. HANK McCOY IN THE BAR/RESTAURANT SCENE. THERES A TV IN THE BACKGROUND WITH POLITICIANS TALKING ABOUT MUTANT RIGHTS OR WHATEVER. ONE OF THE POLITICIANS IS DR. HANK McCOY IN HUMAN FORM. THATS WHY I CONSIDER X-MFC A REBOOT NOT A SEQUEL. SO NO MATTER WHAT YOU GUYS THINK SYNGER IS SCREWING THIS FRANCHISE UP EVEN MORE CAUSE I ALSO REMEMBER BEFORE FIRST CLASS CAME OUT THEY SAID IT WAS SEPARATE AND FROM SYNGERS X-MEN BUT NOW THAT SYNGER HAS REPLACED VAUGHN HE JUST COULDN'T HELP HIMSELF. The result was rather predictable, really, but with the crowding cast - foremost Stewart/McKellen/Jackman's return - I dare to bet we'll just get another half-assed Cyclops if he does return in this one. So yeah, I'd rather not see him again. Not this time, at least.

Anyhoo...I agree that continuity should be an issue with these First Class movies. That being said...it's kinda too late. We all know who the first X-Men were and what they changed from the comics. I won't say anything bad about them because it's just good to see them get some attention at all - characters recreated to serve the purpose of the movie versions or not. My personal fave has always been Colossus, so I'd like to see more of him. More than that...I just want to see some respect for the stories they're supposedly basing the movies on.
