BOX OFFICE: LOGAN Looks Set To Debut With An Impressive $170 Million Worldwide This Weekend

With rave reviews, Logan looks set to dominate the box office both domestically and internationally this weekend. Just how high will it go? Hit the jump for the latest on Wolverine's final fight...

Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast will dominate the box office a couple of weeks from now, but before that gets the chance to tear the competition to shreds, Logan is set to have a huge worldwide debut. In North America, the Marvel Comics adaptation is currently tracking for a $65 million opening weekend haul, while it should make around $105 million from overseas.

With 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, Logan exceeding expectations is no great surprise, and Deadline mentions that it's possible the end of Hugh Jackman's tenure as Wolverine could go even higher than this estimated haul of $170 million worldwide. That's pretty impressive, especially as it's R-Rated and is the first Wolverine adventure not to be PG-13.

Logan's release in China should also be interesting as the trade speculates that it could do well enough there to take that predicted $105 million up to $130 million. Ultimately, we're just going to have to wait and see, but things are definitely looking good right now. Unfortunately, no matter how well the movie does, we can pretty much forget a sequel now that Jackman is hanging up his claws!

That's great, especially for an R-rated film! From what I've heard, I really think it deserves a good run at the BO. You will be missed, Hugh!

@BillCipher999 - Seems weird to show actors playing superheroes before the character of Wolverine was even created.
