Dafne Keen's Incredibly Intense Audition For LOGAN Is An Absolute Must-See
With Logan arriving on Digital HD today and Blu-ray next week, 20th Century Fox has released a new featurette with breakout star Dafne Keen's screen test as Laura, a.k.a. X-23. Come take a look!
Logan director James Mangold and his casting team pulled off quite the feat when they were fortunate enough to discover a remarkable 11-year-old girl by the name of Dafne Keen, who, at such a young age, was able to deliver an outstanding performance opposite an Academy Award-nominated legend. (Not to mention, she almost stole the movie from him entirely.)
Keen, just like Jackman before her (who caught his big break with 2000's X-Men), now has an extremely bright future ahead of her, which, timeline be damned, will hopefully consist of multiple reprisals of her now fan-favorite portrayal of Wolverine's natural successor X-23.
Ahead of the next week's 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, & DVD release, 20th Century Fox has provided Entertainment Weekly with an incredible behind-the-scenes look at Keen's first screen test with Jackman and it should quickly become clear why she was destined to play this part. Check it out below:
For comparison's sake, here's Hugh Jackman's Wolverine audition from 1999:
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border.
But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
