The IMP Awards has just revealed an all-new Japanese poster for The Wolverine featuring star Hugh Jackman “torn between life and death.” In addition, actor Brian Tee’s official site has revealed his first look as Noburo Mori, a “corrupt minister of justice,” in the James Mangold-directed film.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality. Directed By James Mangold, The Wolverine hits theaters in 2D & 3D on July 26, 2013!

Anyways, I do like this poster, simplistic, yet intriguing. The script is terrific. The ending scene alone alone makes up for Origins.

Also, [frick] yes, In this pic, Wolvie's hair is looking like mine!

And yes, not a big spoiler or anything considering it was reported earlier last year, but Wolverine brutally kills a tranquilized bear and gets a beer bottle smashed into his mouth (Which he then pulls out of his cheek) and there is also a scene where he is stabbed in the jugular with a melee weapon. This is going to be 'R', folks.

Here on brazil the title ended up as "Wolverine-Imortal" imortal being our translation for immortal.

Great poster, but for some reason I'm still 'torn' on this movie. If it gets an R-rating, that'll really elevate my excitement

Yep, an R Rating really means this film is going to awesome, just like that other extremely hyped R Rated Fox movie that came out earlier this year...

Yeah...right

When I was growing up I always thought Wolverines claws came out of the back of his hands about 1 cm behind the knuckles. Since the first X movie he has had them coming out of the front of his knuckles. I dont know if I am being petty but I dont like the change.

I know this movie won't be rated R, since little kids would still wanna see it, I just hope it ends up rated R, that would boost my intrest. Characters like wolverine need an R rating. When, or if, deadpool lands it needs an R rating as well

We get it! Hugh is buff! Does he need to be shirtless for no reason in ALL promo work?
KingLeonidas
KingLeonidas - 4/12/2013, 12:51 AM
@Luigi
He is shirtless in all promo material because supposedly the movie very heavily highlights his physicality. This is something that Jackman and Mangold have been stressing over and over again. That is also something that is leading people to think that the movie be R.
Giznad
Giznad - 4/12/2013, 1:01 AM
Didn't Fox just say they're scared to release Deadpool because of it being rated R? Why would Wolvie get a R rating?

Absolutely no offence fellas, but to hell with "look at where his claws are in relation to his knuckles", "his sideburns are meant to be attached to his chin" and so on, these are just superficial, nitpicking for the sake of it comments. Everybody was crying out for the japanese saga to be adapted for film and now you have it, don't complain over fairly trivial things.
This film is looking very good however, and has a credible director with a knack for character driven stories (i.e. Copland, Identity, 3:10 to Yuma), and it will, without a doubt, beat the s**t out of that big budget tv style movie directed by Joss Whedon. That's right, I said it, I ain't no Lemming going with the masses. I have a feeling The Wolverine will be the best CBM since The Dark Knight.

So they just said [frick] it with his claws. Even the promo stuff has them coming between his fingers. So sloppy.
