Having recently exited New Regency in order to enter into a producing deal with 20th Century Fox, Hutch Parker has joined The Wolverine team as a producer reports Deadline. He joins Lauren Shuler Donner in this capacity (via his Hutch Parker Entertainment banner) on the James Mangold directed comic book adaptation. Fans of the original X-Men movies should be pleased by this news as Parker also severed as a producer on the original movies. The Japan set sequel to the critically panned X-Men Origins: Wolverine is rumoured to involve Wolverine taking on the Silver Samurai and is currently set for a July 26th, 2013 release.

Please.

As long as FOX studios is pulling the strings it'll be sub-par at best. Marvel Studios or bust.

I'm hoping this is more of a reboot than a sequel to Origins. I'd like to forget that movie even exists.

My interest in this movie went away when Aronofsky bailed. I have a feeling his Wolverine movie might've been weird, and not-mainstream, and probably a little unorthodox but dammit, I want ambitious & weird directors making superhero films.

We're starting to enter that phase where studios are just making the same superhero movie over and over, and a little oddity might be enough to shake things up and keep them interesting.

Ok thank for that @teabag and @IM53. Fantastic photo. As for the movie I really liked the first 2 X Men so hopefully they can recapture a little of that magic.

The yellow suit is ok, but really, it's all about the cowl. That's been missing from EVERY x-men movie. His hair has been too tame too. I want it big, wild and spiked. With a mask would be cool too. The yellow and brown costume kicked ass. Lets see it in the movie, in some way or another. Please.

Yeah good point iLoveMarvelAndDC. It worked well in First Class. One of the few things I liked about that movie. Fassbender, Bacon, and Wolvie's cameo were rad too.

@Firg seriously that was the first and only assumption as to why i could see that actor playing wolverine you could come up with?
1.He is a great actor
2. He looks the part; he is about the same height as wolverine (JG-5'5 Wolverine- 5'3), His facial features are about the same i could def see him owning the cowl. Only thing he has to do is bulk up under some fitness programme.

There is something else but it has managed to slip my mind

@jimoakley666 Nope. not at all. But i understand your reaction. I would have never figured while watching Chris Hemsworth in the Australian soap Home & Away that he would go on to play my fav marvel character some years later lol.

Origins was great up until the helicopter scene. after that, it just went too weird, i thought. but it wasn't at all a terrible movie. i was kind of pissed that they didn't actually kill the girl, because that gave him some great rage. i'd like to see the next one start with him already married to a japanese girl, and then she dies, and he has to go all revenge on the samurai. that would be pretty badass with a nice gritty 80s action movie vibe.

I think its safe to say that people are too focused, rightfully so, on what Marvel Studios are doing next and what WB/DC are doing with Batman and Superman (and The Flash)to even give too much of a shit about how FOX is going to drop more hot shit on our eyes with the continued water-downed bastardization of characters we've grown up with.

This film will be sub-par as long as FOX is involved (as previously stated by another poster) and as long as that sycophantic bitch Lauren Shuler Donner is involved. With that dumb broad tossing in her weight around on set you'll never see Wolverine in a cowl. She'll probably insist he pops his claws at every 10 minute of screen time in case our goldfish brained asses forget its Wolverine. Just like in Origins.

FOX are [frick]ing arrogant and stupid. The worst combination ever. The people they bring on to work behind the scenes of these shit-fests are [frick]ing arrogant. They've got this attitude of "[frick] you" to the very people who have supported the characters to make them lucrative in the [frick]ing first place in favor of people whose only contribution to the franchise of these characters is $14.

@WeaponX well said and i couldnt agree more. Ive pretty much given up all hope for any FOX made CBM. I love the X-Men comics and tv shows but i dislike the movies quite a lot.

If Lauren Shuler Donner screws with this movie by not making it a 15 or 18, I will be (frick)ing mad and I'll pop my onw claws out and go to town on her ass. Wolverine needs to be gross with loads of blood and guts flying everywhere. And yeah bring in the cowl with the blue and yellow costume (which is the one he wears for department H), it would play out really well I reckon.
