Our Russian comrades over at Stark Industries have obtained information which may have revealed the title of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men followup. Russian News site Film Business Today states that the sequel will be lifted from the pages of Marvel comic books and will be called X-Men: Days of Future Past. Fox envisioned X-Men: First Class as the first film of a new trilogy. Simon Kinberg, who co-wrote X-Men: The Last Stand and co-produced X-Men: First Class, is writing the sequel, along with Vaughn and his longtime collaborator, Jane Goldman. Bryan Singer will return as producer on the film, which is set to begin filming in January 2013, after Jennifer Lawrence has finished shooting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The sequel for First Class is scheduled for a release on July 18, 2014.

it might be called days of future past but it doesn't mean it will feature the sentinels,x-men first class didn't feature cyclops, jean grey, angel or iceman.

never trust fox.

Yeah, won't be watching it. [frick] Fist Ass, [frick] Fox, and [frick] any X-Men related subject in association with Fox.

Let me know when Marvel Studios' releases the official announcement for this.

I know I am getting WAY ahead of myself BUT this could be a way of reconciling the differences that exist between Singer and Vaughan's movies.

Similar to how the new Star Trek film is both different and linked to the original TV series this could be a storyline that is linked yet unfolds seperately from Singers films.

The fact that both Singer and Vaughan are working on these films together may suggest that.

I convinced will see proper 70's style sentinels tearing it up!

marvel72 - 7/27/2012, 4:21 AM
they'll probably send wolverine from the future to the past to try & stop the sentinel program from happening, you know just so wolverine is in the movie.

should be cable or bishop, trying & sort all the continuity problems out.

X-men rights should be with Marvel Studios.

Its cool to see cbm's use titles from comics instead of jus numbering it, But I'll wait and see FC was good due to the performances of Mcavoy and The Fass. Its going to be interesting to see what they. Vaughns back directing so you'll atleast get a good movie. I get tge feeling that they might pull abrams and have two different timelines with singers version and vaughns version.

I know ... they'll just go into the future and make X-Men 4. Lol

X-Men is one franchise that has the potential of reaching The Avengers level of success but it won't happen aslong as fox are handeling them. Look at all the 5 films. They are barely average at best financially. It's ridiculous that not a single film has reached more than 500 mill expect the last stand and not one single film is good and that includes x2. [frick] fox they can go to hell.

I was of the opinion all of the X-Men films were just ok encluding 1st Class(the stamp now cost 60p by the way, frickin day light robbery) Now if DOFP can move away from the [frick]-ups of the first 3 films and improve on first class then bring it on.

@jimoakley666

I don't agree with all the hate towards the X-men comic costumes...i really think they would look good on screen. I mean look at The Avengers! You have a guy leading the team whose costume is the American flag with wings on his helmet....
Now i know Wolverine has a "silly" yellow/blue spandex (some would argue) but he also has some other sick ones too! Brown/tan, X force etc

I hate Fox has the rights, but First Class was pretty damn good, my favourite compared to the previous ones. Hopefully after Avengers they will introduce some of the iconic costumes. Not saying that will fix the franchise, i wan't it to go back to Marvel, but at least they'll look decent lol

Be real people, this movie will not follow the classic storyline. The first movie had First Class in the title and the original first class was nowhere to be seen.

Everyone should now how Fox does it by now. They don't give a shit about the source material. You guys might as well prepare yourselves now. We will never get a proper X-Men film under Fox.

YESSS!!! This is what I was hoping they would do.
Hopefully we can finally see the old skool cast reunited, one more time!! Maybe the'll even throw in some other Fox/Marvel cameos, from the Daredevil/Elektra and Fantastic Four movies. And [frick], man, maybe we'll ven see Cable!?
GambitFreak@ So you don't like the '90s Fox cartoon?

But also I agree with Teabag, I think X-Men first class was decent but it had no original X-Man from the original roster other than beast. And in the original trilogy Mystique barely knew charles, I love the Days of Futre's past thing but come on no Cyclops, jean gray, ice man or angel... i think this is cool but i kind of disagree
IronLeprechaun

XMen 2 was the only good X-Men movie besides the decent First Class... get the rights back marvel... you could do amazing stuff with X Men

I'm down if they do it right but I'm sure it'll be their own spin on it. The movie would have to also be at least 2 and a half hours long.

With that said, I think we're all in for a treat cause Fox isn't rushing Vaughn like they did with First Class (which was an amazing film regardless of its [frick]ed up timeline) so this movie is going to be even better IMO.

First Class was a frikin fun movie w/ great 70's Bond flick feel to it. People who are hating on it, not because of what it IS, but because of what it was NOT, have a misconception of the entertainer/fan relationship. Your high opinion of your... opinion ruins it for you and no one else... Play on Playa!

HEY FOX DON'T SCREW THIS UP!!!! WAITAMINUTE, this is Fox. I'm sure they'll give us Apocalypse fighting Sunspot and of course they'll throw in Northstar to get that LGBT crowd approval. I'm almost certain we'll get to see Deadpool and Namor as well, because, C'mon- this IS FOX!!! Just scrap it now...

How many X-men movies are Fox going to develop? I hope Matthew Vaughn would make his own trilogy, so Marvel can easily breathe out and buy the rights back. I'm very keen on seeing Wolverine in sequel to The Avengers or a Captain America cameo.
