During last year's San Diego Comic-Con, the first images from the upcoming X-Men '97 animated series were unveiled, and we got a glimpse of Magneto in an upgraded costume.
The Master of Magnetism wasn't wearing his helmet, however, leading to speculation that the show might be ditching one of the most recognizable and iconic aspects of the character.
Now, Hasbro (via io9) has unveiled a first look at some X-Men '97 merchandise that will be hitting shelves soon, and it seems the (reformed) villain will be sporting his classic headgear after all.
The helmet is a spot-on recreation of the one Mags wore in the original '90s series, which was itself faithfully adapted from the comic books. It's wearable, but also comes with a display stand for those days when you get tired of posing as the legendary mutant.
Check out some images of Marvel Legends' replica Magneto helmet below (no release date has been announced, but we'll update as soon as we know more).
X-Men '97 still doesn't have a premiere date after recently being delayed. Though nothing has been made official, it's looking increasingly likely that the series won't debut until sometime in 2024.
Plot details also remain under wraps, but we do know that Magneto will lead the team, which will also consist of Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, and Jubilee, with the likes of Sunspot, Cable, Nightcrawler, Forge, Bishop, and Morph expected to make sporadic appearances.
Villains will include Mister Sinister, Emma Frost, Sebastian Shaw, Callisto, and Valerie Cooper.
