Jennifer Lawrence Seems To Have Changed Her Tune About Returning For More X-MEN Movies

The Oscar winning actress has previously implied that X-Men: Apocalypse would be her last time playing Mystique, but in a new interview with Empire Jennifer Lawrence claims she's "dying to come back"...

Director Bryan Singer has made it very clear that X-Men: Apocalypse would mark the end of a "natural prequel trilogy", and that seems to suggest that some big changes are in store for our merry band of mutants in any future installments.

Several of the main cast members' (including Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult) contracts will be up, and Jennifer Lawrence seemed to show little interest in reprising the role of Mystique in a past interview - in fact she flat out stated that this would be her “last one, sadly”

Well, perhaps her experiences shooting this latest X-flick changed her mind, because now she sounds only too happy to return for another run in the blue paint. “I am dying to come back,” the Academy Award winner tells Empire “I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it’s not on anyone’s shoulders."

Of course that doesn't mean she will be back, but it's nice to know that it's a possibility. Then again, Mystique did look to be in a spot of trouble at the end of the recent trailer, so there's always a chance she may not even survive this movie.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016.

@HappyHater - She's not the problem here, it's Bryan Singer and the pack of producers who have been stinking up these films since 2000 and who seem to have forgotten that the characters in their X-Men films are based on 40 year old characters. It's like them making a movie about Of Mice and Men and then deciding yeah you know John Steinbeck is a piece of shit, let's turn George Milton into a black prostitute in a wheelchair and then we'll make Lennie Small the 5 year old son of a German politician.

They turned Mystique into Magneto's freakish blue guarddog/Xavier's former blue child lap dog, not Jennifer Lawrence. They should be the ones to be thrown out so that the X-Franchise can end up in some new hands which hopefully comes with some fresh new ideas.

@Tetrahedron - I totally agree Singer is the main problem and he made JL's Mystique a problem that's why i'd prefer her not to come back, it's too late for her to be a good Mystique. And the same for Singer if he could let X-men in Miller's hands for example and just go direct movies i don't care aboout i'd be happy too :)

@UltimateCookie - She's not really Mystique for most of the movies. it's Jennifer Lawrence as Jennifer Lawrence/That girl from hunger games.

@leethario - You're entitled to that opinion but I respectfully disagree. But my opinion could change with Apocalypse cause she's not really selling me in the trailers so far.

Please let this be the end for Singer and Lawerence. They're both holding back this franchise from achieving its true potential.

I bet you this chick doesn't even listen to the words that come out of her mouth. Probably has no recollection of saying "this will be my last."

I wonder if that's a subtle cryptic clue to Mystique dying in Age of Apocalypse?
