Robert Liefeld Wants Jon Hamm To Play Cable

If Deadpool performs well at the box office, could Cable turn up in the sequel? Could the character turn up in X-Men: Apocalypse? If any of these prove true, co-creator Robert Liefeld wants Mad Men's Jon Hamm to play him. Could you see Don Draper as the futuristic commando?

The production and creative teams working on Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse are already fielding questions about Cable even though neither film has been released in theaters. While they won't confirm if the time-traveling mutant appears in X-Men: Apocalypse or is in line to join Deadpool in sequel, co-creator Robert liefeld took to twitter during the Golden Globe Awards to reveal his personal pick to play Nathan Summer.

Created in 1990's The New Mutants #86, Cable has been a member of The New Mutants, X-Force, X-Men and Avengers. Cable is actually the son of fellow X-Men, Cyclops and Jean Grey. A mutant, Cable possesses awesome telepathic and telekinetic abilities abilities that are hamstrung by his constant need to subdue the techno-organic infection always present on his left arm. The character has been featured in several Marvel video games and received a guest arc on the animated 90's X-Men series. The character has yet to make a live-action appearance in the X-Men films.
