Not as good as DoFP or maybe even First Class but definitely better than the rating it has on RT.

@CaptainAmerica - True but remember that Days of Future Past also had a low rating. However, it was financially successful at the box office.

There's always a divide between critics and audiences. Movies can receive scathing reviews but still be money makers.

@CaptainAmerica - I agree. The movie was good just not great. The franchise has the potential to blow our minds but it seems like FOX-MEN are trying to play it safe instead of swinging for the fences.

@MrFantastic - nah, DoFP has a 91%

@benreilly32 - First Class and DoFP were different, Apocalypse played it a bit too safe. I think people are tired of "end of the world" type movies, atleast superhero wise.

48% on RT is [frick]ing ridiculous. It should've been 75% at worst. Critics need to get their heads out of their asses.

@soberchimera - average rating on RT is 5.6/10. that's more than fair

@soberchimera - I think it should have been more like 22%. This movie sucked monkey nuts

@soberchimera - Stop reading RT wrong. The Tomatometer is a popularity contest, not a rating.

In terms of how many people I know who enjoyed the film versus those who didn't, or how much of the film they enjoyed versus what was a boring mess, 48% is spot on.

Pretty dull movie tbh, hate how mystique is leading the xmen for some reason, oh yea its popularity contest .. Smh this is NOT the X-MEN i grew up with .. 6/10 for me

Just saw the film last night....

It gets a 7/10 from me. Saw some major improvements and also so major disappointments.

I did like the fact that they explained that Apocalypse takes the form of the previous mutant he might have bonded with and etc so that gives a good idea that perhaps in the future if Apocalypse returns he'll have a different form more akin to what we favor. When it came to Apocalypse recruiting mutants a part of me just forced myself to believe that he was mind manipulating them when his voice changed pitches. Jennifer Lawrence was NOT as heavily involved in this film as I thought she was going to be but I COMPLETELY hated the idea of Mystique instructing the new X-Men at the end of the film. But I guess it's always possible that she can switch sides in the near future. Really want to see more from this new cast I think they're solid actors that can give off more as the franchise prolongs.

Just as I suspected Angel was garbage. Hoping that he really wasn't killed off. As far as I know he's just knocked out. Same goes for Havok too, there's no idea what really happened to his whereabouts. I just want new writers and directors to come in and bring back most of the dead mutants that should've never been dead in the first place.

They certainly don't need another xmen in this Universe though do hold on to Patrick Stewart through a reboot ala M and James Bond

So far...

Captain America: Civil War = 9/10
Deadpool = 8/10
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 7.5/10
X-Men: Apocalypse 7/10

Btw, Wolverine's Weapon X scene was terrific. I really want to see more of Hugh now. Kind of sad that he won't be returning post Wolverine 3.
