Director Bryan Singer posted a photo of Patrick Stewart during a visit to the set of his movie "X-Men: Apocalypse". While his presence could give the indication that Stewart may be in the film, the director said his former star was just visiting the set.
Sadly Stewart will not be reprising his role as Professor Xavier, and neither the photo nor the message that accompanies it indicates any different. Stewart, who has played Professor Xavier in four X-Men films and had a uncredited cameo in “The Wolverine”, is not among the film’s announced cast, and the actor has previously said he would not appear in the film.
In his post, Singer wrote Stewart was visiting and the director and actor were "reminiscing about our own #daysoffuturepast."
Fans of Stewart’s Professor Xavier know that he may not be done with the X-Men Universe just yet. The actor hinted back in February that he may be a part of
Hugh Jackman’s final Wolverine movie.
Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Apocalypse also stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Lana Condor (Jubilee), Ben Hardy (Archangel), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), with Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse). The movie will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
