In
X-Men: First Class, the characters of Mystique and beast establish a firm friendship with hints of a more romantic relationship developing at some point. Of course at the end of that movie Mystique puts the kibosh on that by joining Magneto and his not-so-merry band of mutants, but most fans expected something of a rekindling in Bryan Singer's
Days Of Future Past. During promotion for the film, some stills made their way online which clearly showed the two blue mutants sharing a few intimate moments -- but obviously we now know any such scenes must have wound up on the cutting room floor. Why? Actor Nicholas Hoult explains all to MTV.
“There were another couple of scenes which got cut, because they didn’t work technically in terms of the geography of how the movie played out in the end. Why [Mystique and Beast] would be here — when the world is about to end — and then we’ve nipped home quickly to have a good night’s sleep. Everyone was like, ‘well, we can’t really do that.’ So there were a couple of extra scenes which got cut, unfortunately.”
But all is not lost for "Beastique" fans. We've already heard that their relationship would be better explored in
X-Men: Apocalypse, and Hoult confirms as much:
“I think they’ll try and figure out a way to develop it more in the next one.” In fact, The Irish Mirror claims things are to get pretty steamy for Hank and Raven, with some love scenes on the agenda. I'd take that with a big pinch of salt though, as it sounds more like speculation...and it's exactly the type of thing tabloids like to report on without any real evidence to back it up.
